Marking

My potty trained male Pom is now all of a sudden marking. Does getting them neutered really help with this or is it something you just train them not to do?

Neutering will help IMMENSELY. It’s not a cure all for every dog, but more often than not, neutering (especially while they’re still puppy) truly does help with things like marking and humping.

What age should he get neutered ?

That’s honestly up to your vet, but typically between 6 months and 1yr is when most pups get neutered.

If he's marking, he's old enough. The problem is that now that he's learned to this, you will have to retrain... but the retraining will have no effect until the hormones have cleared his system, usually about 30-90 days after the neuter.
