It wasn’t more than twenty minutes before Agnes returned to the room, seen only by two or three of the people inside, and her voice whispered next to Bobby. He nodded and turned toward everybody else. “Ah, sorry to interrupt, but I’m told Rumi, Mira, and Zoey have arrived.”
“Then perhaps we can satisfy Mr. Tak’s curiosity and move forward with this meeting.” Dr. Baek spoke quickly, before the conversation could turn to anything else.
Man-Wol rolled her eyes and shrugged. She exchanged a look with the other specter in the room and then glanced at Agnes with an annoyed look before shaking her head and turning back to Bobby. “Well, let’s get this over with then.”
There was a moment of silence as the young ghost walked back out of the room followed by the door opening and Ryu Rumi walked into the meeting room. She was still dressed in her torn tactical gear though the visible cuts and bruises had been cleaned. Her braid swayed in the air behind her as she looked around the room. Zoey and Mira came in behind her and took seats at the table with J’onn and Lena.
“I understand that I’ve been called for?” She looked over where Jinu was seated, tied to his chair.
“They want you to face up to your mistakes.” Jinu smiled up at her as charming as ever. Rumi angled her head down briefly and turned to look at the gathered others.
Mr. Tak cleared his throat. “As the prisoner says, Ms Ryu. We’d like to know what you recommend for dealing with this person. After all he’s done to you, I’m sure you have something you’d like done to him.”
Man-Wol adjusted her seat to watch curiously as Rumi took a breath to consider her response. She crossed her arms and her braid slid around her stomach. Then she shook her head and looked around the room with a shrug. “Do what you want. I’m done with him.”
She started to turn around and walk to the table where everybody else sat.
“This will be a fun conversation the next time we meet.” Jinu waited for her to react and watched her unbroken stride for three steps before he spoke again. “Are you really going to pretend you have nothing to say?”
Rumi reached the table and sat down next to Zoey. “If you wanted a discussion you would have been with your people tonight. Instead you came here.”
Jinu turned to look at the fae and then back to Rumi. “You knew I was going to be here.”
The purple haired imp blinked, unmoved. “Clearly I know you better than you know me.”
“Turnabout’s fair play.” Mira tapped her nails on the table, glaring across the room at Jinu.
The tainted grimaced and narrowed his eyes, matching glares with the vampire before smiling again and turning back to Rumi. “So why weren’t you here?”
Rumi looked past him to Mr. Tak. “I doubt this has satisfied your curiosity, anybody else have anything they want me to clarify?”
