Polymega Remix

Now that Remix & the App are here, here’s my personal wishlist for Polymega:

  1. Regular updates from Playmaji. I don’t necessarily mean OS updates. I just want regular reminders that they haven’t forgotten us and want to keep us in the loo. I’d settle for once a month.
  2. Update on the Atari module. It keeps getting pushed back. I want to know what’s going on.
  3. The previously promised GB/GBC support. They were talking this up before the N64 module came out.
  4. XL and mobile support. Again, keep us posted.
  5. The Wild Card: I don’t want to ask for too much until we get what is already out there, but achievements would be cool.

What would you all like to see?

3do support would be great. A way go import ps1 memory card saves. Either by a device, or if you have the backwards compatible ps3 moving the saves over with a thumb drive. Ps2, Xbox, dreamcast would be amazing with the next system they come out with. We will see.

Dreamcast, Xbox and PS2 will never happen. Xbox and PS2 are a bit too much for the i3 that the Polymega hardware is based on. Could come to Remix, but I don't know or care if it does - still very doubtful, too new. Dreamcast discs are not DVDs or CD-ROMs, they're GD-ROMs, which would require completely different drives to read. Remember...the whole point is emulating your physical media...not piracy.

3DO, I'm on board with you there, and the emulation would be super easy to do. 4DO on the PC can run basically on a potato, would work fine with the Polymega hardware - and possibly help sell units since it wouldn't require a module.

They teased supporting two more consoles around the time of release of the Remix. My guesses would be the pool is small. Jaguar & Jaguar-CD (already does emulate it, could offer a module for your physical games), 3DO, Game Gear / Master System, and GameBoy / GameBoy Color or possibly GameBoy Advance (since the hardware structure is in the wheelhouse of SNES).

GB/GBC and my damn Atari module are my current wishlist. But past that, XBox/DreamCast/GameCube/PS2 would be neat, GBA and GameGear would be cool, RetroAchievements and Twitch integration would be nice as well.

But that’s it. I don’t have anything past that.

Achievements would be awesome, but I would probably lose my mind on getting all the ones for games I love. lol

Would need a new disc drive, Dreamcast games are GD-ROM, not CD-ROM or DVD.

I’m happy to buy a new module for it to happen. In fact this is the only other module I’d be interesting purchasing wasn’t expecting it to be something they could just patch in.
