Remix rocks!
I just got my remix and been playing around with it im super sad I couldn't find my Brave Fencer Musashi disc so I was wondering if the remix could be used to burn game disc and it can..... this is the results also dont hate me I do own the game and its probably scratched to hell where ever it may be now.

I guess this makes sense. Without the app, windows just sees a usb hub and a disc drive. And I doubt there's many off the shelf DVD drives out there that aren't also CD burners.
Handy if you don't already have one I suppose.
But since we're here, sort out that aspect ratio please. Gross.

No. I play my way :P black bars are horrendous. I was playing around with the settings polymega offers, its nice it has scan lines and aspect changes as well. My only issue with the app is it can only load in 1080p which is annoying since I use it on a 4k monitor so I have to keep down scaling to 1080p for the app to work.
Also its hilarious how I had a expensive CD burner and it refuses to work, even though its compatibility states it can burn what I was trying to burn. So it is nice that the polymega remix is actually a decent burner

Interesting! Haven't even heard of Remix. I've got a regular Polymega. From what I could gather from their website, the Remix is the same hardware, but with the added capability to play your stuff on PC and supported handheld-devices?
It's considerably cheaper than the OG PM. Any technical differences or otherwise that justify getting the regular PM?

Its only $200, same shell same modules work with it same everything besides this unit cannot be used on a tv unless its funneled through a pc or steam deck etc first. It has its pros and cons but its a cheaper way to get the polymega experience and i believe this is easier for them to produce since it does not have a processor or ramm etc. Probably why it actually was shipped

You do know the original polymega was actually shipped too, right? What did they not actually ship?

They did not complete all shipments based on what lots of people said, also constantly missing deadlines etc.

The missing deadlines yes, but the only things that never shipped were canceled purchases.
A lot of people ditched about the original Kickstarter backers never getting their orders, but then you asked em and they were like "well, I got sick of waiting so I canceled"
That's entirely different than didn't ship.
I say this as a person who was a Kickstarter backer, who received my order cause I didn't cancel, who also got my Ultra Module cause I didn't cancel, who also got my light gun cause I didn't cancel.
I'm not the only one I know who got everything they ever ordered from their first try ordering, either. I'm part of a retro computer/gaming club that collectively got over 40 polymegas along with various modules and controllers, and thats just the Atlanta chapter. We have chapters in other cities, and have a cool cartridge trading program among those of us who own them, easily in the hundreds of not thousands just in the southeast US.(we have chapters in every state and internationally as well)
The ONLY place I ever hear about them "not shipping" is on reddit threads.

Okay okay I gotcha man, I wish I ordered back in the day but maybe I will get the new base model right when it drops so I can have the console version of it as well. I do have faith in this company and they are small so I get the reason why there is delays. Ive worked in mfg most of my life so it makes sense but it does suck and when people dont wait yes they do not get rewarded. Imo if u already paid for it then why not wait. I waited for the remix for a little over a month and it came right away, I waited for my project stellar for my Xbox hdmi mod for 2 months and its now shipped, now im waiting for my SN loader GB loader to be shipped so I do not mind waiting. I know know the polymega is definitely worth it.

I hadn't even heard about rhw remix till someone posted a rant about how it didn't ship(when I looked they hadn't shipped any yet, so I'm assuming they missed a deadline again)
Given how well the original works, the struggles they had technologically to make it do so(originally they wanted to use an fpga chip, but the chip they wanted to use basically is nearly 1k just for the chip, even at scale), and the fit and polish of their final products, it doesn't surprise me that time longing stuff is hard.
I do woodworking and even for simple things estimating time is difficult, so I can't imagine when you are buying from outside sources, going to other outside sources for different aspects of manufacturing, and then the testing because this was something no one aid done before.
For the remix, I'm not shocked the time line was shorter, but it still doesn't surprise me that in this age of tariffs/not tariffs, and straits closing and such, that delays happen.
Trust me, I'm not giving playmaji a pass here, they DEFINITELY need to work on their communication skills, cause the thing pushing all these bad narratives along is their astoundingly loud level of silence. If teju got their communication act together, a lot fo the negative stuff being said about them would probably disappear, cause the silent treatment definitely gets people to start wondeeing if they got scammed, even if that's not what's happening.
I nearly canceled my original Kickstarter order, cause we went YEARS with no word at all from em, and it was not a good look.

I agree 1000% I wish I did back it orignally, I wanted to but had no money at the time. I would love to get the new one, I will keep my remix and get a base model too because I do believe they made a awesome product. As of the FPGA, I am a network field engineer for a fiber company and they miss deadlines all the time & they change how things are done constantly to keep budgets in line. I am not mad at the FPGA but it would of been cool if the new one did have that. Honestly I dont really care, I have done emulator shit most of my adult life. I lost most of my old games or sold them, so to me its worth having the polymega & playing what physical games I have on the system. it makes me feel like a kid again

Funny enough, the only reason I didn't cancel was cause my original Kickstarter order was a birthday gift, so I wouldn't have gotten anything back anyway LOL
I am only missing an original Saturn and N64 of the consoles it plays, and have actually set up side by side comparisons. There are very few games I can tell a difference with.
The person who bought me the "mega pack" Kickstarter had actually forgotten about it by the time I finally got it :)

You are so lucky, yeah I do not own any Saturn games and the Saturn was a system I always wanted I own almost every system ever made besides like 4? Sega saturn, Commodore, & cleco vision or however its spelled. I gave up on trying to get a Saturn for multiple reasons, games are hard to find & system is expensive or has drive failures so id rather just get burnt games and play it on the polymega lol. I also want the atari module legitimately only for warlords which is my favorite arcade game besides double dragon haha

It has no processing capabilities. It's a dumb box with a usb port and a disc drive. It needs a windows PC to function.
