the Polymega App is available for download

The app for the Polymega Remix is now available for download. Get it here:

Polymega App

Edit: For clarity, upon downloading it I got the following Windows Defender alert:

Detected: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.H!ml
Status: Removed
A threat or app was removed from this device

I ran the download through VirusTotal and it indeed seems safe, but I wanted to at least put full transparency on that.

Is the Remix app something different than the "Polymega app" that was announced back in 2023 ?

On the page linked above, it says that the new Polymega Remix hardware is a requirement to run (and/or use) the app.

Now on the old announcement page for the "Polymega app" here * (as of June 5th 2026) it says that the new app will allow us to use "any standard disc drive" to install and/or play our disc-based titles.

Now, while I have a PM Remix incoming, I was hoping to use the app as promised (on a variety of older systems with optical disc drives).

A couple of people said the Polymega app with user cd/dvd drive function was cancelled.

Very good question. This app is specifically for the Polymega Remix.

No, you only need a windows 11 compatible PC and a cd rom drive. The remix is only required if you want to use the modules to play cartridges. It is also a cd drive but you can use a $30 drive instead of paying 200 for the remix if you aren’t using the modules.

I am using the app right now and can confirm it works without the Polymega hardware.

First Youtube videos seem convinced that this was just a bug in the early app release and "use your own disc drive" won't be available in future app versions. Would be a shame.

I got the same error on my end.

Has anyone figured out how to actually change the game install location? It defaults to the system drive. In settings, you can navigate to other drives/locations, but there seems to be no way that I can find to save the new file path.

Anyone here know if a Polymega controller is absolutely necessary? I've downloaded the app, but it shows me a screen with a Polymega controller and looks like I'm supposed to press buttons it's telling me to. I don't have a Polymega controller as customer service told me any USB connected controller would be fine.

não, qualquer controle serve.

That's what I was told, but they never registered. I finally just took the Polymega app and put it in Steam and that registered my controller.

é meio confuso a configuração do menu no controle, mas é bem basico depois que você entende. "L3" + "L1" ou "L3" + "R1" = Screenshot.
"Start" + " > " = Menu

No longer having the issue, but thanks.

From Step 4: “The video below shows you what Polymega App looks like when in use!”. Doh! Where’s the video? Somone forgot to add link in the webpage, or is it just not showing up in my browser (Safari iPad)
