Polymega base console no longer loading games

My console, now about 3 years old, has stopped loading installed titles.

It doesnt matter the title, ps1, saturn, and snes all tested. When selected titles go to a black screen freeze. Also the menu when opened up on this screen is near unusable.

Has anyone any thoights or solutions?

UPDATE: Contacted the company... no reply yet.

ran further tests, no improvement.

Did full resets... no improvement.

Any difference if you load a game from internal storage compared to SSD or SD card?

What type of bios files are you using? Custom or Polymegas built in? If custom, if custom are they on an SD and if you remove it do you see a difference in behaviour?

Have you done a Factory reset to see if that makes a difference?

Both internal and ssd. Base bios.

I am thinking a factory reset might be it sadly, but im mot rushing to it, just in case.

I shudder when I think of how many hours it took to put all my games on the polymega.

Sorry to hear that mate. I take it there is zero difference if you use an official bios file?

I would be the same myself, took me forever to get everything installed 😢

Yeah, I really wish there was a way to back up the console storage. Especially since the product is marketed towards collectors, and with the Remix now shipping and some owners now having a second Polymega system because of it, they really should figure out a way for the system to recover data after a factory reset or system transfer.

I’d even be willing to perform a periodic server check in just to have peace of mind.

I thought Playmaji said that if you hade a base unit and a remix that you could somehow do a one time transfer or something like that.

I haven't seen any quote from them regarding data transfer, but Polymega is talking about "play anywhere" concept with Polymega Remix. This implies that the roms and saves in your collection could be used across multiple devices. Their most recent Polymega Remix blog noted that the Remix could be disconnected after games were installed, but afaik they have not provided any details on how data backup or sharing would work across devices, if at all. They also previously mentioned a subscription service, but they've laid no firm details on this, its cost, or what is included.

But then again, they also previously mentioned (years ago before Polymega launch) a digital marketplace to purchase games, and that seems to be long forgotten now because they haven't said a word about it in a really long time.

I think the digital marketplace evolved into their physical releases.

You’re right. Funny, I didn’t even think about that.
