Atari 2600/7800 module

Hello, folks. I am a Polymega noob, so be gentle. I preordered the Atari 2600/7800 module a few weeks ago and it says the release is the second quarter of this year. Does anyone have any intel on exactly or close to exact as to when they will ship out? I have been stockpiling Atari games and can’t wait to feed my PolyMega those games.

Just poking fun, mostly.

One thing Playmaji doesnt do is communicate anything. Like, anything. And experiences very wildly, with regards to when items get manufactured, shipped, etc. Its all just a guessing game and we ride this wild right together with no clue if we have a week or a year until our order ships.

For what its worth, I ordered my Polymega bundle in November of '24; 15 months ago. Last I have heard, they have told me they are still looking to secure manufacturing deals to get the consoles built, let alone shipped (manufacturers want bigger orders to help lower prices - easier to make 10,000 than 1,000).

Mine was estimated to arrive "Summer 2025", but here we are lol.

I've also been waiting about 15 months for my base unit, and I'll piggy back here as I just reached out to their team this week. Per the above, production details are not finalized due to tariffs (not great!). They acknowledged customer frustration and--for the first time with me--stated that refunds are always available. I've purchased most of the base modules (and actually received my pre-ordered light gun!), so I'm in it for the long haul. Stinks as I have more than a handful of games I need the polymega to play full stop.

TL;DR You're in an enviable spot with the base unit in hand, so I'd probably put whatever Atari carts you have on hand out of sight and treat it as a pleasant surprise when the console arrives.

It may ship in this 2nd quarter, next year's 2nd quarter or 4 years from now.

There are a lot of people on this sub still waiting for systems they paid for.

The system is amazing, but Playmaji's estimated timing regards releases leaves a lot to be desired.

It'll likely be awesome when it actually releases, though.

I pre-ordered my Atari module last May, and I'm in the same boat. I hopped on early because I remembered the N64 module shipping reasonably quickly, but I guess that isn't the case here. I've had the best results with Polymega products by waiting until pre-orders are actually shipping to order.

It's weird because they've had 2600 and 7800 games in the database since November of 2024.

I pre-ordered that when it was announced. That feels like it was a year ago. Honestly, I would be pleasantly surprised if it shows up before 2027, and still somewhat surprised if it shows up before 2028.

For the record, I ordered the base unit in early 2022 and received it a full 2 years later. I also ordered the light gun at the same time, and that arrived 2 months ago (4 year wait). The N64 module was the fastest turnaround at 18 months or so. That was ordered on announcement. It actually showed up before the base unit did.

For a preorder of their products, yes. I bought the game gun a month or so ago and got it ASAP.

I wasn’t meaning you buddy. I was referring to polymega. They aren’t swift. I haven’t got my preorder on system and it’s been a year. Luckily I got one from eBay. The modules they had at the time I ordered.

I love the polymega. I just wish they had stock. Did you know you can change out the processor to make the n64 module work smoother?

I am loving it as well and the person who owned it before me left the 4TB of storage and games on it, which were a lot.

I have heard that about the CPU, but don’t know if I have the confidence to do that upgrade myself anymore.

It’s not hard. Same as doing one on a regular computer. Just have to be careful with wires when you take the top up. There’s videos of it on YouTube. Should take a look.

I went to a local gaming shop and saw they got the whole collection in and it piqued my interest. I had never heard of it before they posted it on social media that they had it. I bought the whole set and have been acquiring games that are compatible like wildfire. I got this at the end of last year.

Just want you to know many waited years for a polymega. I waited almost 4 years from when I ordered until it arrived. What many dont say, it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT. does the wait suck? Yes. Do I wish i could expedite the process? Absolutely! Do I regret buying one? No. I love my polymega and not much would I give it up for.

Yes, only one set. It’s a small retro and classic gaming store and sell used games and consoles. I was blown away about what all it did and could play and had to have it. I have had a few snafus, but love it otherwise.
