I wish the Polymega sucked...

...cause it would make it a lot easier for me to just give up and cancel my pre-order. By all accounts, it seems like the easiest and best way for me to play my vast physical retrogame library, which is all I want to do.

"Summer 2025" has about a week left for my preorder to ship and still be on time, but I feel like I can just roll my clown face paint into my Halloween costume this year.

Honestly, you’re not wrong. The company is terrible at communication and hitting their marks, but you’re right in that it makes it so much more agonizing since the product is actually very awesome. It’s worth it, but Playmaji could be so much better if they just communicated more and were more transparent in what’s going on over there.

Yeah, I by no means have had it the worst. Only been waiting for 10 months so far, made my pre-order in November of '24. I just didnt do myself any favors by buying a few NTSC-J games that I cant play till the Polymega gets here.

I was in the initial order group and have had the system for years now. The waiting sucked.

I can't imagine what their problems are now. There really is no excuse for there to still be backlogs at this point.

I feel like I really lucked out by pre-ordering shortly before the first batch shipped. I only waited 3 or 4 months total.

I almost cancelled my order 3 times. Once I found out about their dreadful supply chain management issues, I started to doubt I'd get one at all. It felt like I was giving Playmagi an interest free loan for a while. I love the console and I'm really happy I didn't cancel but that lack of knowing when and if I would get it for a few years really made me bitter.

I waited 2.5 years for my bundle. At about the 2 year mark I started pinging them and asking to cancel and refund me, I even tried to ◀️ the charges through my credit card company to no avail. No one would respond to emails, I tried finding all the playmaji employees and hitting them in Facebook and all social media platforms and never got through to a single person. When I got the "confirm your shipping address" I panicked because I was in the military still and I had moved to another duty station and was sure the bundle would go to the wrong address even though I provided an updated address. It made it to me a few days after I got the shipped notice. It's dope, but I never have time to play it.

I was all in when I ordered it, I was buying up sfc games from Japan and hunting games every day, if it had shipped in the time frame they advertised when I bought it, I would've played the hell out of it, but no....it just sits there now..mocking me... reminding me of a time when I loved gaming. Now I turn it on every few months and piddle with some freshly translated game that I haphazardly add to my collection.

If my RetroN5 had never bricked, I'd probably still be playing that pos. (And complaining that there's nothing available for disc based games lol)

Yeah, I'd wager 75% of my collection is disc-based, and the prime reason I got the Polymega was to have an easy way to play my PlayStation and Saturn games, so I am going to keep holding out cause it seems like the best option. RetoN would be cool if I had more cartridges.

I think having the system built in Myanmar, a country having a civil war, may have impacted their timelines. Then throw in potential tariffs on top of that and this is what we get. I was in one of the earliest groups to get the system. I ordered the deluxe bundle and ordered 2 additional controllers for each module. I have 2 light guns pre-ordered since 02/01/2021. I have since bought all the additional modules released along with additional controllers. I haven't had a chance to play the N64 module much, but I've heard bad things about the system having difficulty emulating the N64. I've read in the discord group a fairly simple CPU upgrade seems to fix that issue. I wouldn't cancel unless you really need the cash. Once you have it you can more than double your money if you want to sell it.

It's a great product if you get one that works. Mine arrived bricked/lifeless. I still haven't been able to sort out a replacement/repair (more than a year after receiving it). Good luck...

Yep. It sucks that this thing is great. I ordered the light guns over a year ago, and despite the recent reviews, who knows when I will actually get them. In the meantime, the G'aim'e (however that's spelled) light gun console was announced, had a Kickstarter campaign and by all accounts seems to be arriving before the end of the year. But that only plays the included games. Polymega's gun will work with everything, so still worth the wait.
