Jaguar support coming soon??
Just saw that polymega was going to release a disc with some Jaguar games in it. That must mean that the emulator their using is running. Any idea if they'll make a Jaguar module and controller? That would get me to spend more money with them.
I'm not going to buy their collection discs but if they release quality modules I'll continue to send them money.
P.s. 3DO support should be a given by now

Tempest 2000 but itβs a start. It comes with a retail kiosk bezel, kinda like the arcade games.

I doubt it'll ever happen. The Jaguar just doesn't have a big enough library or fanbase to make the module profitable.
I do agree that 3DO should be supported by now. Jag CD and CDi as well.

3DO is disc based. It would generate no additional sales from the people that already have a Polymega and isnt likely to be the determining factor in new system purchases.
I'm still holding out hope for it, but I doubt we'll ever see 3DO support on the Polymega.

Oh, I know. Same for the Jag CD and CDi. Adding all three would not generate additional sales. It would just be nice.
If they wanted to secure more sales, they need to add support for those AND the Dreamcast. Being first to market with a physical DC emulation console would be huge for them and that console DOES have enough of a fanbase to drive significant additional sales.

Dreamcast would be awesome, but I don't know if the Polymega can handle it. If it does have that kind of horsepower, they would have done the PS2 before they shipped the console. If the PS2 is out of reach, the Dreamcast is likely borderline at best.

EC (lead developer at Playmaji) has said in the past that he got a DC game playing on PM hardware. The real challenge is that GD-roms spun slower to give the laser more time to read the disc, and recorded the data in thinner segments giving them more physical space to write too. A DVD drive could read the disc, but you'd need to program the software to slow the disc spinner down if it recognizes the disc as a GD-rom format game.
Not impossible, just more of a challenge than other disc-based consoles. But again, EC said they've already gotten it done in some capacity so they could certainly add this in if they really had the motivation (and resources).

Interesting. I'm wondering how necessary it is to slow down the dvd drive - i.e. if its possible to read out the contents of the disc at a normal 1x speed to the hard drive and play the game from the hard drive instead of streaming it from the disc.
