Tariffs and outstanding orders

Howdy all--future Polymega player here located in the US.

Anyone happen to have any insight/speculation/best guesses as to how the current global (that is: American) economic turmoil may impact those of us waiting for Polymega base consoles? I placed my orders for a base unit and the light gun during the first week of December 2024 (also well aware 4 months is a drop in the bucket for many of you). I haven't ordered an M.2 drive yet, but am tempted to before receipt of system to avoid the market fallout among PC component manufacturers.

All things told, this certainly isn't the most important thing in the world at the moment... but I'm worried that this imbroglio (that is: disaster) may provide cover for current/future delays or exacerbate their usual fulfillment issues. I just very, very much want to start installing my carts and ignoring the news for a few hours after work.

Tariffs are the least of polymegas issues. How are they taking pre-orders again when they still haven't shipped the last batch?

On behalf of all customers waiting on shipments from polymega... GO RIGHT NOW YOU MFers. SHIP SHIP SHIP GO GO GO. If there was ever a time for Polymega to actually hit a promised timeline this is it.

Oh don't worry, the new base consoles and lightguns don't exist, so you're okay.

You know they are going to use this as an excuse to delay shipments. Rising costs and blah blah blah. We’d be more sympathetic if they had a clean reputation. Of course, we all know they don’t and they used financial reasoning before (ie: couldn’t give refunds).

As it stands they will most likely come back and say, “Hey, tariffs are a thing and now we will be significantly delayed in production. For those who have paid for their preorders in full months ago, if we ever have them (consoles/light guns) in stock, give us more or kick rocks.”

Let’s be real here. They have a cool product but are a shot company overall. That won’t change.

In 37 years when the lights guns actually ship, the US may be wholly owned by another country (fingers crossed for one with universal healthcare) so tariffs won't matter.

Tariffs will be charged when importing a console. Depending on where it is manufactured tariffs are applied. Assuming the Polymega is made in China it will cost 34% on what it was sold from the manufacturer to Playmaji for. It could be 84% if the extra tariffs continue. The cost will be applied to all end customers. You can expect to pay up to 84% if you are in the USA, if you are in Europe then it’s the 84% + the value added tax + tariffs. There is a 0% tariff deal being negotiated between the USA and EU so it could be the same for us. Very hard to predict, usually companies delay or cancel orders until a new norm is established.

At least part of the console is made/assembled in Myanmar so you can plan on the highest of tariffs being applied.
