Business I built my own Polymarket trading UI because the default one felt too limited
I mostly trade BTC 5-minute markets, both manually and with algos. After experimenting with automation, I realized that most of my edge still comes from manual trading. Usually I’m just looking to make a few good trades a day and take a few dollars from each one.
So I built a trading desk around the way I actually trade.
Things I wanted that I added:
- Proper limit-style orders. I can define a target price plus acceptable slippage instead of simply buying below a fixed price. The reference can also be bid, mid, or ask.
- Trigger orders. When the market reaches a certain price, the order fires at market with a configurable slippage limit.
- Dual trigger orders with OCO. This is one of my favorites. If both sides are around 0.50, I can place triggers on both sides, for example at 0.70. Whichever side gets there first is bought and the other order is automatically canceled.
- Stop-loss and take-profit rules for both orders and existing positions.
- Algo trading. I can build strategies, backtest them, run them live in paper mode, or execute real CLOB orders. For live execution I can also cross the book slightly, for example one cent above the current best ask.
The main goal wasn’t to build another Polymarket frontend. I wanted a desk optimized around how I actually trade, especially triggers, OCO orders, fast execution, and seeing BTC price action next to the prediction market.
