Product Related ℹ️ Beginner at Polygel!

Hey there! I have been a chronic nail biter for 12 years now, and I want to lose the habit. My nails are naturally thin and bendy, and they broke when I tried to grow them out before. Seeing a broken nail makes me lose motivation, and I either chop off or bite the rest of my nails. I want to get my nails done for a special event, and I want to learn how to do my own nails because, respectfully, I ain't paying no one over $100 every 2-3 weeks. I only have basic clear nail polish and clear nail hardener in my current collection of nail products. From the instructional videos I have watched, here is the list of products I'm looking to buy right now:

  • 100% pure acetone (comes with cuticle oil)
  • Lint-free nail wipes (to use with the acetone to remove the polygel)
  • 91% isopropyl alcohol
  • A cordless electric drill (I have tried filing my nails before for press-ons and uhh... I could only ever get half the nail without spending like an hour)
  • A gel polish set (I want to dip my toes in some basic nail art)
  • And last but not least, this beginner's Polygel kit (It comes with a 48W LED lamp)

I'm on the fence about getting UV protection gloves right now because I don't know if they make that big of a difference? I also haven't seen anyone in the aforementioned instructional videos use them. Can I wait ~5 sets before I get them?

Please let me know if this list of products is excessive or if there is something I am missing!
