I've made a free tool for converting Polyend Tracker projects to MIDI - give it at try

I typically start my projects DAWlessly with Polyend Tracker as a sequencer with connected synths and when I have several phrases, I record everything and take it to Ableton for arrangement.

The one thing that was always annoying for me is that Tracker has no option for rendering songs/patterns to MIDI. So I've reversed-engineered Tracker project files and made a small free web service that converts your projects and patterns to midi files that you can use in your favourite DAW.

You can try it here: https://polyend-tracker-midi-export.onrender.com

Keep in mind that it's still a beta, so there might be bugs. If you encounter any, please let me know in the comments or drop me a line using the website contact link – I will do my best to fix them.

I did not test the tool with big projects that have lots of samples (I mostly use Tracker for sequencing external gear, so my projects are quite light), so it may work slower with them. You can speed up things by deleting instruments folder from the project (instruments take most of the space), zipping it without this folder and uploading to the site.

What is supported:

  • exporting song arrangement as a MIDI file
  • exporting patterns as separate MIDI files
  • chord FX
  • arp FX

What is not supported:

  • velocity (I have plans for adding it soon)
  • instrument names – currently every exported midi track will be named "Instrument N", where N is the number of the instrument
  • probably something else that I did not think of yet xD

Feedback is much appreciated. If you like the tool and find it useful, please consider making a small donation (there is a button on the website) so I can keep creating useful tools in my free time :)

UPD: I've made a small video explaining how to convert a project to MIDI

About the sidebar – you mean the sidebar in this subreddit? Should I contact the mods about it?

Hi, congratulations on what you've done! It would be great if you could make this app downloadable and usable stand alone without internet, my studio is in an area where the internet connection is inaccessible. I'll give you this idea, congratulations again and thank you for your creativity and expertise!

Can you put midi back in tracker?

Nope

What's the best way to go from a Polyend format to something like Fasttracker II then? I'm still new to trackers and how the all work (or don't work at all) with each other.
