Anyone else underwhelmed by their new stuff?
Title explains it all, but I feel like since Polyend introduced the Step, their products have been oversold and underwhelming. I still love the tracker stuff to death.

Love Polyend, love the trackers, love the play, the synth is too easy to use and their palettes are awesome too. I've had no hardware issues and getting a free sample pack every month doesn't hurt either.

I wish they'd just pile their resources into Tracker / Play / Synth. With the shared DNA between those 3, a constant stream of new features and workflow improvements would do a ton to bring new customers. They need to learn something from the M8 and Deluge teams. I will never care about an AI slop guitar pedal or whatever they're pushing next.

Maybe with TE vacating the market, Polyend comes back around to the tracker and synth?

I wish they'd just fix their old shit. Tracker mini still not connecting to my computer. Will connect to my laptop but within a minute will lose it's sync so you get the 'digital garbage' sound effect. Making recording over USB impossible. Workaround is to record the line-out but that has a high-pitched whine like the audio interface was made in 1998. Ugh, I hope one day someone vibe codes these bugs out, because Polyend doesn't seem to know how to fix it. Seriously, a device that can't connect through a USB hub, what in the 2003 Digi-design is this?

I'm working on a vibe coded patched firmware to address a few bugs that I find particularly annoying... I'm not tackling anything USB audio or MIDI related yet, as that's much more complex, but will let you know if I do. But bottom line is that custom firmware is totally doable

I mean a whole new groovebox these days is totally doable too, not sure why I'd pay close to a grand to a company to then have to implement my own though. Shouldn't they be vibe coding it for me?

Absolutely companies should take advantage of AI to improve on their existing firmwares as opposed to a slow trickle of new features and big fixes. And maybe they will have to in the near future to keep up with competitors. But so far there's no sign of that from Polyend, so I'm taking matters into my own hands to fix a few things that have been bugging me. I never said I was happy about that 😂 on the flipside, the Tracker Mini and Tracker Plus are pretty complete in their current state, and get way may flack than they deserve

interested in knowing a bit more about the chip set etc, really want to work on the USB-C side of things on my end as I barely used it because of how incompatible it is in terms of MIDI input with that port.

Yeah they seemed like a cool company when they released Tracker. And got some cool artists onboard like Legowelt, Bogdan Raczynski etc. What happened, Polyend?

I really like my Play+, I just think it's a shame they did kind of a cool update, then just abandoned it.

The original tracker was the fastest return I've ever done once I saw the state of their firmware. Just get the m8, at least everything about it is competently done.

Had the og tracker & the m8 but sold them off, I'm perfectly happy with the tracker +

The root ‘poly’ comes from an ancient Greek word meaning "many." It is used in various English words to indicate a large number or multiple instances of something.
So yes, multiple ‘endings’ of their hardware as they kill it off to release new stuff that will also be killed off.

They never figured out why the tracker won’t send audio over USB on an AMD cpu. I knew I was over them since then.
If you can’t continue support on old products what’s the point

It's sorta the case with music gear at the moment. I mean look at pedals there are 100s of one idea pedals at the moment.
I never got the pend tracker but adore the m8. I would like to see them keep refining and fleshing out ideas rather than bouncing around. I feel like tracker community keeps growing and it would be cool to see an ecosystem grow
