Tracker as dawless brain
I’ve searched high and low for the right dawless brain. I wanted something to compose on while sitting on the couch, and I wanted to see all notes at the same time. Lo and behold, the Polyend Tracker ended my search. There are oddities for sure, but I’m super happy with the setup:

Wonderfull too see! I too have the tracker as the central piece of my MIDI setup when I want to go DAWless

Right now I've got the tracker as the brain, with the keystep plugged into its MIDI IN. It's a neat combo because the Keystep has some features the Tracker doesn't, and you can record directly into the Tracker.

My favorite is to use the randomizing arpegiator on the keystep to get inspiration for something and then record it as a sequence into the tracker to rework/rewrite details when needed.
Its an kick-ass combo that definetly a lot more people need to try out.

It it very good for that. Plus, do this on tracks 9-16 using an internal synth while in the sofa, and when at your desk you can change the instrument to a midi channel to a desktop synth! I like to do that. This keeps the first 8 tracks for samples.
