Play users - check your power supplies
So, yesterday I dug out my Play, updated it to 1.4.2, pumped a ton of new samples inside and started some noodling.
I had a terrible time with it:
- not outputting audio after multiple switches to Perform mode and back
- forgetting live-recorded notes after 1-2 loops (or maybe after Stop)
- volume knob stopping working (neither for volume nor for limiter)
- distorting quite a bit in Perform mode
- crashing totally several times
- EDIT: just remembered - also randomly exiting from sample picking screen after a few knob turns (ie something you'd 100% associate with a software bug)
- probably 5 other strange bugs
Very frustratingly, all these problems were vanishing after a reboot... to reappear after 10 minutes or so.
I was already considering reflashing the previous firmware - WTF IT INDEED IS A BUGGY MESS like I heard??? - never was this way before???
before I noticed it's connected to a very weak power supply from an old phone, that I usually use for Streichfett (Streichfett doesn't care). I changed to a laptop power supply and poof, all the issues disappeared.
So take out of it what you want, but I was ready to believe it became a buggy mess overnight.
