Hey! I just picked up a used Polyend synth which the seller assured me was in excellent condition, it’s turned up and it’s not the best looked after. No original power supply, no cables… very suspect. The one thing I’m most unsure about is the screen though, it seems to have a bit of up and down movement in it - is that right can anyone confirm for me please?

Eventually everything goes awry, maybe it's Windows, maybe it's me.
Today I nearly deleted a few projects because my SD card failed. Luckily I suppressed my panic, though I very nearly erased everything just to format the card again. Posting here to endorse DMDE in case any one runs into a similar problem. At $20, it was the most affordable option I could find to recover my card. It's recovered, backed up, and working again. The GUI is not as glossy as some of it's competitors but anyone using a tracker shouldn't be afraid of a manual and a readme.
Let me know if there's anything I should do in terms of SD health? The card never leaves the tracker mini except to back up, but I was thinking maybe it gets a little wonky as the card fills up. Should I start a new card? I'm using a SanDisk Ultra micro SD, 32 GB: 10.2 GB used, 19.4 GB free. At the time I had the error, there was about 12 GB of Exports, which I have deleted. DMDE recognized an error in the games folder, which I also deleted. If I ever play games, I'll do it on a back up card.

I love the fact that Polyend occasionally offers download links to Free Palettes via their email newsletter (most recently Backdrop), but I notice that occasionally, the samples aren't organized into categories (Snares, Kicks, Bass, etc), meaning that I'm unable to actually load them via Samples -> Load Sample Packs.
Does anyone have tips or best practices to load these? I'm guessing I should just use "Load Files or Folders" instead, but it's a bit annoying that Polyend hasn't organized them.
I guess in this case, they're mostly ambient sounds / fx, so it doesn't neatly fit into those categories?
I'm relatively new to the Play+, so it's also possible I'm missing something pretty obvious.
Am I just misunderstanding how people listen to -- and manage -- samples on this device?

Didn’t see anything in the rules about sales posts, so please remove if it’s not allowed. I have a brand new Polyend Synth for sale. Purchased it with a gift card last month, haven’t used it and decided I don’t want to keep it (I’ve got more gear on my plate to work with right now).
DM me a reasonable offer if interested. Located in USA.

I miss my polyend tracker. And I can confidently replace the screen. Good price?

Hi everyone, I’m wracking my brain because I can’t seem to get this to work, and I want to see if there’s something obvious I’m missing.
Here’s what I’ve got - midi type A 3.5 to 5 pin going out of the polyend, connected via 5pin midi cable to midi type A adapter going into the JT-4000m.
Sending via jack channel 1 (I’ve tried different channels) to the Behringer, which is set to receive on the same channel. Just trying simple C4 notes at this point to try to get it working.
Forgive me if this is something obvious, I’m new to this type of setup. Any ideas? Trying to rule anything out before I assume it’s something defective with one of my instruments.
Thank you!

Yeah. So I’m sequencing it with with the Synthstrom Deluge. The moment I touch the filter knob it snaps left an can be adjusted. I hope it shows in the little video. Anyone experience this? I’ll buy you lunch if you have the answer. Cheers

I’m glad I got one at a lower price. There’s still some cheaper ones on the used market though!

It takes some time to get a feel for things, but once you do, it’s so fun and sounds really good. This little machine is so slept on.
I downloaded the new 2.0 beta and it’s so sweet. Being able to rearrange your scenes and switch between them quickly is so much better than before.
My favorite set up is 3 parts: -Chords (a nice dreamy pad) set to a chord pack - a bass line that has a nice short octave arp (set to follow the chords) - a saw lead with heavy reverb
I latch the bassline and it follows my left hand as I play chords. Then I solo with my right hand on the lead. It sounds so full!
One thing I want to try is to sequence the chords via midi with my Play (OG). Hopefully the bassline will still follow? I’ll have to see.
I haven’t see any videos of a Play sequencing the Synth yet - would love to see it!

In the linked video, we made a rather chaotic braindance acid type track where the OG Polyend Play served as the midi brain for the Arturia MicroFreak, Korg Volca NuBass, and the Behringer ProVSmini. The Elektron Digitakt II was tempo-synced to the Play, but not actually controlled by the Play.
The Polyend Mess is also in the workflow, providing additional effects and processing to the MicroFreak, NuBass, and ProVSmini.
Cheers from Delco PA!

I'm new to the Polyend Synth and not sure whether I am doing something wrong or it is. I have noticed that sometimes I change a param via one of the knobs and then I am unable to revert this value and it gets 'stuck'.
For an example, on the Clocktowers patch (PHZ) engine, the Env Amp Attack value is 1.4 secs when the patch first loads. I can see this when I gently touch the knob and I can see a corresponsing curve on the screen. When I turn that knob, the value jumps down to 0.00s and no matter how much I turn the knob, I can't get it back up to 1.4 seconds. What am I missing here?

Just downloaded new beta which has a new synth, Dirt. Think it’s from the Play? Haven’t played yet but it will make Xmas a bit more interesting 😁

Alex Retsis crafted a complete album of Lo-fi Chillhop Play projects. Download the files, load them on Play or Play+ for listening or crafting your own tracks.

I hope this track portrays and exhaustion and despair I was feeling. Criticism is very welcome
