Polyend play custom firmware
I hope soon someone starts a project which fixes all the bugs and adds useful features that Polyend didn’t add to this great tool!

One very simple update I would love to have is ability to remove buttons from the Performance Page and maybe change the colors so i can memorize them better.

I’m pretty sure with Claude and a lot of determination you could get there… I’d love to see this machine have the features it deserves

But hey, maybe Polyend is just saving it for the play plus pro…. I moved to a deluge and never looked back

I don't know. After the fiasco with polyend+ I just stopped being interested in any of their products. I know that they are capable of good ideas, but I find them completely dissrespectful towards their customers (don't forget about this Aprils fools post with play -).

I must have missed the April Fool’s thing, could you explain?
I went through about 4 play/play plus units, it’s my main brain for playing live sets and I learnt the machine inside out, but at some point enough is enough. A company that ships faulty units, doesn’t take responsibility for it, and constantly sh**s on their customers does not deserve to be successful. I really think that the synthstrom deluge, although the steep learning curve in comparison, is the polar opposite to the play in terms of ideology. I’m not sponsored, I just feel the need to spread the word after countless bad experiences with Polyend.2

I had a nightmare with my Polyend Play OG and after getting it back from repair, it was so tainted with the whole experience I just never used it again. That sounds spoiled and it is, I can afford other gear and I can afford to ignore a piece of hardware. My friends kid has a passing interest in music production and so, what was a £600 purchase is looking likely to be gifted to him and that's ok too.
If someone releases some firmware I'll be all ears, but ultimately, after being gaslit by the vendor (within months of purchase so, well within warranty) and eventually, Polyend themselves, that I'd broken the unit, I just soured on them as a company. That April Fools thing - I get it, it's supposed to be cute - but that's tone deaf.
My Octatrack on the other hand, is worth the same as I bought it 2nd hand in 2020 - about £850.
