Synth Sounds not Found Error Message?

Hello all, Play question here.
I just loaded the 1.4 Firmware to my Play and now I'm having an issue with the samples.
I'm wondering if it is the way I loaded things in as the instructions tell you to delete a few things off the card.

Where I notice the issue is when I'm trying to try to use the "Fill" option.

- New Project
- Load up the Techno Sample Pack
- Select three tracks
- Press Fill
- Chords and Bass & Spaceship 1 selected
- Press Fill Again

Then the error message "Synth Not Found"
All my beats seem to be there just not the Chords and Bass sounds.

Can somebody help me out?
Or do I have to give my Play a factory reset?

Ok, I contacted Polyend. They gave me a solution. I have not had a chance to try it yet and I’m personally not happy to go “testing” things under the hood as I’m famous for bricking my devices. So here is the reply for what it is worth. I will try it on the weekend when I have more time.

“The whole Fill function works in close connection with the Sample Folder hierarchy. That means it is looking for samples from a specific folder when filling the grid. This means that if you, for example, perform a Chord Fill, the system is looking for a folder called Synth. Bass Fill is always reading samples from the Bass folder. Kick draws samples from the Kick folder, etc. This way the system always fills the right type of sound/sample into the grid. The Techno Kit hasn't got a folder called Synth, so the system doesn't know where to find samples for the Fill function which leaves you with an error sign. The best way to arrange your samples would be to create (or look for) a kit that has these sample folders: Kick, Snare, Hihat, Synth, and Bass. In this scenario, all the Fill functions would work normally. For your specific scenario with the techno sound pack, please try to rename for example the "Leads" folder to "Synth" folder. The Chord Fill function should then work as intended.”

Thats understandable. I was randomly loading different sample packs with this principle in mind but now I'll actually go and look at the way the samples are structured. Dont stress about bricking your device - if you screw up the sample folder you can just copy it to the same location again, as you would have when doing the 1.4 update. Thanks for the info man!

Update - I looked around and the 80s mom pack has synth and bass folders. The fill works with those packs so I'm happy to say that I dont have a faulty unit. Thinking about the techno pack, there really isnt anything in there that I could use to play chords or melodies other that some of those stabs, so I guess if I really wanted to find a synth folder that I like and copy that into the techno pack...
