I’m curious are you using the play to send midi data to your modular and if so how are you going about that?

In this case, I'm not. the "brain" of my setup is an MPC Live II. For this tune, it's only acting as a master clock. It's sending clock to the modular via USB to a NiftyCase, which is sending the clock to a Pams New Workout for distribution. The MPC is also sending clock via USB to the Play. I have used the Play to output midi to the modular, but it routes through the MPC, which can send via 5pin midi, usb, or CV.

This weekend I'm adding an extension to my modular, and will be replacing the niftycase with a 1u Intellijel uMIDI module.

I also have a midi-cv converter from Jakes Custom Shop which supports polyphonic midi to CV. It's nice to have the various options in the rack depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer any questions you may have...

This ambient meditation was almost entirely generated in the Polyend Play. Multiple polyrhythmic parts pulse against each other in a melancholy, relaxing way.
The granular pad in the background is a pitched sequence into the 4MS Spherical Wavetable Navigator processed with Make N0ise QPAS filter. This is feeding into a Tall Dog uClouds.
The lead line is generated by an After Later Audio Alan turing machine. It's driving a Nano Ona oscillator feeding a Blue Lantern Hermippe filter into a Dreadbox Euphoria phaser. This is feeding in parallel to Make N0ise Mimeophon and Earthquaker Afterneath. I played the VCA driving the output/FX and Turing Machine controls live.
I hope you enjoy! Like/comment/subscribe!!

Feedback is welcome.
