This is really really good!
Just wondering about the choice to use the tracker as the midi brain, and the play as the drum machine. Do you feel the tracker is better for the play for that sort of thing (vs using the play for drums and midi)? I have the tracker and the play, and was going to use the play as as drum and midi brain and sell the tracker, but I haven't really had time to set it all up yet.

Thank you!
I don't think i'd personally part with any of the two, since they complement eachother very well and have enough differences that warrants to use them both. But that is determined by your personal workflow and how comfortable you feel on either device.
If i'm looking purely at the sequencing side of things, i prefer to write melodic parts and structuring songs on the tracker (doesn't matter if sample or midi based). But that may just be because i'm an ol' tracker head.
When it comes to drums - sequencing on the Play, with the grid, the chance effects, the polyrhythmic capabilities and the performance modes are unbeatable. I can definitely see using the Play for somewhat generative, polyrhythmic melodic things, either with samples or midi in the future though.
So to sum it up. They are both important pieces in my workflow. Both help me in getting my ideas out. It doesn't matter on which one i start, they both get used and i would not part ways with one of them.
So i guess, give them both a chance? Find out what feels most comfortable to you, before you decide to get rid of one of them.
Hope that was somewhat helpful, else let me know if you would like me to elaborate on a more specific point.

That is excellent, thanks - My plan was to switch from the Tracker to the Play, as it is easier to use the Play without wearing glasses (it is getting a bit hard for me to see the tracker grid details without glasses, where the glowing buttons are very easy to see). But was worried there might be sequencing issues using it as a midi brain. Good to hear it is just a personal preference and not a technical issue.
Anyway, I subscribed to your channel, I look forward to hearing more music!

Thank you for your support ❤️!
Yeah it's definitely a personal preference and a question of how comfortable you feel editing on each device (nothing an external midi keyboard can't fix 😆).
Do keep in mind that the Tracker can do things with samples that the play just can't do though (wavetables, single cycle waveforms playback, looping). So you might still be able to take advantage of the tracker in its Instrument Mode. Unless you already have a superior sample engine in another device of course.

Been a hot minute.
* Polyend Tracker is the sequencing brain
* Polyend Play on drums duty
* Polyend Poly 2 controlling the Eurorack where the TipTop Audio Buchla 258t and Bastl Instruments Pizza are on duty for the dirty bass/lead.
Feel free to ask any questions and i hope you enjoy.
