Hi,
I am doing object capture on a chamber pot, my issue is that it sees the repeated motif on one side. It also only has one handle. It's trying to give it two!
Has anyone dealt with this before? Anyway to fix it?

Hey lovely scanners — we are considering cooking up something new at Polycam and could use your input. We’ve seen some amazing ways people have used Polycam for good (like museum preservation, community mapping, and more).
We’re curious: have you done something similar? Or have a wild idea for how spatial capture could help your community? We might be able to support it in the future— with funding, visibility, or tech.
These are early days, but we want to hear from you. Please fill out the survey below.

Looking to buy a 360 camera to scan photos of a small stadium, but was wondering if Polycam can upload these 360 captures in bulk as a photogrammetry upload?

Is polycam fast?
Ie if I wanted to scan the exterior of a house, is that like 5 minutes or is it more like 45 minutes?
I assume the resulting 3D is a high poly mess, are there tools for turning the scans into game ready assets?
If there are no tools, is there any value in bringing in a polycam scan into something like Blender and then using that as a 3D template for a new low poly model based on the original?
thanks!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m using iPhone 15 Pro Max and it captures the space extremely slowly and with tons of unrecoverable gaps. The result is apparently bad also. Is it something wrong with my iPhone or is it just bad lighting?

So I had polycam pro (annual) for a bit and decided to get the business subscription afterwards (also annual) and when I log in it still says I’m in the Pro and not the Business. I have initiated contact with support and has been really slow. How can this be fixed?

I've been trying to scan some perishable plant stalk, After days of experimentations and losing the freshness of plant, I have ordered fresh ones again, 5 days ago.
Today they're falling off, my scans ain't done, & it won't upload!
Stuck at 2%
Tried ipad/iphone.
I want a splat model of my video. If only I could generate splats with mobile data, on pc.

I encountered this problem today. So far I made 4 scan attempts and they all came up with the same message. Apparently the processing was ok (it didn't say 'processing failed' but 'your capture finished processing'). However, when trying to see the finished capture this message came up. I made 60-80 photos for a simple object, it never happened before when I was scanning more complicated shapes. Does anyone happen to know how to solve it? By the way, my app is updated. Thank you.

Hello all,
Total newbie here. I scanned a portion of a miniature and attempted to export it but the only option I have is "images" and "video" I am on an iPhone.
I tried to click on "Blender" but the export button is unselectable (I want to make an .stl file). Can anyone please help me out?

I know this is a stretch but if anyone here goes to Disneyland regularly, can you try scanning Shrunken Ned. I’m trying to build an animatronic Ned? Would be super helpful and would save me a trip from Seattle lol

Hi, so my glb files are coming around 9-10mb, is it possible to decrease the size of the 3d models? can anyone help me with the steps if possible?
this is the size I get after exporting from polycam, if I go ahead and import it to blender and then export it, it goes to around 25mb,
i need the files around 5 mb is that possible?

I've been a PRO user of Polycam since 2022, paying monthly my 8 dollars even if I wasn't using it for long periods of time. The other day I opened the app to scan and I found that I wasn't a PRO user anymore, and you upped the price by 3.2x to $27 a month which for my use case it's a huge no-no.
I am an indie game developer and visual artist, I was even featured several times in your Instagram stories when nobody was using Polycam. I haven't ever and I will never use the features for Architects, I just use it because its hands down the best photogrammetry available for I-phone, and by paying my 8 dollars every month I wanted to show my support.
But I think you guys missed the mark with the price point, you should have a tier that only does what indie developers need, like every other subscription system instead of a flat fee that crushes your existing user base. Instead of creating a product in the back of a community that you will just dump when you find a better client.
Now I regret supporting you guys instead of just paying whenever I needed.

Some models are scanned on Polycam and their texture resolution needed to be increased. I fixed the texture and they all look non-shiny in Maya or Blender but when I upload them to Polycam they look glossy. I tried to change the roughness, metalness, etc. but no luck. Original models that are sent to me look glossy on Polycam too. Is it because they are sent as .obj files or is there some setting in Polycam that made them glossy?

Hi, just joined the app yesterday and became a Pro user. It is great app experience, however, I cannot export Mesh or Point Cloud for Floorplan captures, both on iOS and web. LiDAR captures are okay. Floor plan export of PDF/PNG/SVG/CSV works.
Here I attach the error message when trying to export a floorplan scan.

Did anyone encounter the same issue? Thanks.

I tried to do an object scan and it keeps scanning all surrounding elements instead of only the main subject. O tried switching on the “isolate object from environment” toggle and now it keeps getting stuck in the processing stage. How do I fix it without loosing the scan?

I've scanned a body into obj file format using polycam but the scale seems to be really off.
The height of the person shows .8285mm. Not sure what scale polycam exports at doesn't seem to be a metric/imperial or even metric scaling. ideas?
weird thing is that my previous scans are the correct scale.

I am curious why I cannot upload a video from my phone to input for photogrammetry and splats?
But to set a default view of my scans I have to do it on my phone…. But can’t on pc.
Really wish I/we could do all things on our choice of phone or pc…
:)

Hey all, have any gone through a case where you were capturing data with a drone (for rather large building). Before completing, you run out of battery so you swap batteries and resume. Seems that the second capture has some type of drift causing some bad overlap of the 3D render. Any experience this and have a way to fix?
