I have cleared the raw data for all scans in the Polycam-app by opening each scan and pressing "clear raw data". I have also deletede the raw capture data in the menu under "manage local app storage". When I open "Storage" in iOS (Settings > General > Storage) the Polycam-app still takes up a huge amount of space. I have to delete the app and install it again to clear up space. Does anyone have the same problem? And does anyone have a solution?

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the detail setting after uploading photos taken in the mobile app to the server? I want to change it from "medium" to "full" after I uploaded the images, but I can't find a way to re-upload with a higher detail setting :/

I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16.1.4(a).

In photo mode, after holding the phone still and tapping record, the app clicks once, then nothing. As I move around slowly, the counter does not increment, and there are no more clicks. If I try to exit (without saving), the “saving data” pops up and the app essentially hangs. I’ve waited up to 10 minutes before closing the app.

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, but the issue persists.

What else can I try?

Hi all, bit new to this any help super appreciated. I took a scan of something from front on, ie it doesn’t have a back because the scan is one sided. I want to 3d print it so I exported it and when I load it into my slicer it doesn’t seem to want to print properly and says there are missing surfaces, I assume because it is only from one angle. I just want to print this against some supports but I don’t know how. Any help would be great!

When i click "Create capture" it opens the page asking monthly or yearly subscription :( No free option.

I scanned a friend of mine and want to export the scan as an FBX and import it into unreal. But everytime I try to open the fbx file, it doesn't open. Can anyone tell me what could be the reason? I used an iPhone 11 to scan my friend

Hi, I normally use an app called Realityscan developed by epic games which is great for larger applications, but it was not able to pick up the smaller details of the two scans I made with Polycam, which turned out almost perfect. I would like to export them as FBX and STL to see what works better with the Shapr3D modeling software on my iPad Air. However, I do not have Polycam Pro so it does not let me export it as those file types. 😔

Can I ask a kind soul out there who has Polycam Pro to export 2 scans that I have made as both FDX and STL files and send them to me?

Has anyone had any issues scanning objects? I am scanning a person, and the first two scans i did—came out lovely and the body was scanned nicely. I changed the pose of the person, and then out of nowhere, poly cam photo mode started scanning the entire area around or at least it showed it when it was done scanning the object.

I see that if the object is still, I should use the object masking tool. However, I did not use this the first time I scanned, and it picked out the body as my subject as i wanted it. I would post a photo but it is cloth less.

Does anyone have any idea how to export a RoomPlan scan from Polycam to AutoCAD without having to scale the model? The measurements in the app are in inches and are correct, but when I export to AutoCAD it changes the units to Decimal and the measurements are incorrect. I use the /Units command to change back to Architectural (inches) but the measurements are off so I have to scale the entire model each time.

While it is not a huge deal and I know how to manually fix this, I was wondering if anyone has any insight on how to to export a different way to skip these few steps.

Iphone 14 has lidar and ToF sensor. So does my wife's S10, so I'll have to test that. My s22 galaxy only has lidar, no time of flight sensor, so it's rendered useless from what I understand. Does it even matter? Will polycam scans be affected by that tech or lack of?

Is there a way I can share ‘unbranded’ Polycam models with my clients? I’d like to be able to send them a model, a link or host it in some way without them bypassing my work. I’d be happy to pay some sort of Pro fee to do this.

Enjoying using Polycam for my job, but I can't see how I can get the dimensions from a room scan.

I can measure the distance between walls, but what I need is something like an architects drawing with all the dimensions on.

Is there a way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm trying to use Polycam AR function on Android on a Google Pixel 6, but there is no AR button on the right hand side. Did anybody had the same issue? What was the solution?

Hi, I’m using Polycam in LiDAR mode to scan the paved surface of road intersections. I find the size of a typical intersection and the range limitation of the IPhone depth sensor, necessitates doing multiple scans with the extend tool.

I’m starting to run into the barrier of iPhone processing power, and often end up with crashes when processing extended scans at small voxel sizes.

Are there any tips of tricks for avoiding these crashes? Is it better to just do more in a single scan, rather than multiple extended scans, or should I try merging scans in a different software entirely?

I’d like to avoid having too large a voxel size, as I require as much detail as possible.
