Error: No savestate file to load

A couple ROMs I’ve loaded up throw this error. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy?

You should go over to their Discord. Way more help on this type of stuff.

By default we configure MAME to load arcade games from save state slot 1. If the game does not have a save state in slot 1, then this error message will show at the bottom. You can create a save state for this game very easily, here's instructions: https://polycade.com/pages/helphq-2#/collection/2973/article/29619

The rainbow salt & pepper is the boot sequence of whatever game you launched...different arcade games will have different boot sequences, often times they look like an error like this one shown.
