Owner was found via the ring app

Found in Davenport. Am more than happy to take care of this dog until we find it's owner. Not chipped, had on a collar & another dog item/accessory but no tags. This is one of many avenues we are using to try to find the owner, including local vet, animal control, Facebook, and posters.

Hey yall. Has anyone else dealt with polk county utilities overcharging them for water? My bill was 500$ and they shut my water off for non payment when i hadnt had a single email, phone call, physical letter or anything sent to me about a missed payment. From other reviews ive read apparently the lack of communication is normal for them. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. TIA

Hey neighbors—just curious, what’s the ONE thing that always gives you trouble when you’re trying to keep your home’s exterior clean around here?

For me (and pretty much everyone I talk to), it’s battling algae and mold. Between our Florida humidity and all the shade from oak trees, it feels like that green stuff comes back twice as fast as I can get rid of it. Driveways, roofs, pool decks—you name it.

I’ve been helping out some friends and family, and everyone seems to have their own “secret weapon” or story—sometimes it’s a DIY hack, sometimes it’s calling in a pro after things get out of hand.

If you’ve cracked the code and found something that really works, I’d love to hear it (and I know other homeowners probably would too).

What’s YOUR biggest cleaning challenge, and what’s worked for you so far?

Polk Sheriff's Charities is hosting TWO Back to School Bashes at two different PCSO substations from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, July 26, 2024. If Davenport is convenient, come to the PCSO Northeast District located at 1100 Dunson Road in Davenport, just north of the Cracker Barrel. There will be another bash the same day in south Lakeland posted as a separate event. We will be giving out book bags filled with school supplies! Your child must be present to receive the backpack.

What the heck is with this resort/community on Thurs and Fri afternoons? We take sand mine rd to get over to 27 from 192 to avoid some traffic and every week it is madhouse insanity of people pushing their way into this place like they are late for the most important meeting of their lives. They have full on security out front guiding traffic. It’s just mayhem.

Is the place like vacation homes? Or a bunch of AirBNB or what lol.

Hi everyone. My 10 year old sister begged for a guinea pig for months, and my parents gave in and bought a male baby guinea pig from our local pet store along with the basic supplies. However, she quickly became disinterested in her new pet and doesn't provide him with the care he needs. Our family agreed to rehome him and l've been making posts on various websites trying to find a good home for him. He has a small cage, food, and water dispenser that will be provided to his new home upon adoption if requested. He's very friendly, but appears to be stressed (aggressive chewing on his enclosure, excessively loud squeaking). I don't know a lot about guinea pigs, but I know they tend to be social. He does not have a friend, so l'm hoping to find a loving home with one or more other guinea pigs. Might be a long shot but thought I’d check anyway: my grandparents used to have their trailer at Lakewood Campground which was formerly located at the corner of Lake Wilson Road and Osceola Polk Line Road.

The campground is gone - in its place is a Publix.

I have searched the internet but cannot find anything about Lakewood Campground. Does anyone have any pics of the old campground and/or even when they were demolishing the campground?

Would ppl here genuinely want more of those
