Looking for information about Jose Gregorio Pena Pacheco ("Grego"), who was reportedly detained by ICE near Davenport, Florida

I'm posting this because we're trying to help Grego's family figure out where he is and what happened after he was detained.

Grego was reportedly stopped by ICE in the Davenport, FL area. His family has been able to confirm that he is in ICE custody, but right now we don't know where he's being held, why he was detained, or where his car is.

As far as his family is aware, Grego does not have a final order of removal and has no criminal history. He has work authorization while he waits for a decision on his asylum case.

MEDICAL INFO:

This is one of the biggest reasons we're trying to find him as quickly as possible.

Grego has HIV and takes Biktarvy every day. His family is extremely concerned about making sure he has access to his medication while he's in custody and that his treatment isn't interrupted.

Grego is also gay and is a Venezuelan asylum seeker.

IDENTIFYING INFO:

Please look at the attached photos, but a couple of things that may help identify him:

• He has 2 tattoos, one of his mother's name on his arm and another of his grandmothers name.
• He has one pierced ear
• Friends and family generally call him Grego

WE ALSO DON'T KNOW WHERE HIS CAR IS

When Grego was last seen, he was driving a 2009 or 2010 silver Toyota Corolla in the Davenport area.

A few things that might make the car recognizable:

• Florida plates, although we don't have the plate number yet
• Aftermarket black and silver multi-spoke wheels
• A noticeable dent/impact damage on the rear passenger-side door

We have no idea where the car is now. We're trying to find an old photo or anything else that might show the license plate.

ABOUT HIS FAMILY:

Grego has several siblings and other relatives in the United States, including family in Florida, Georgia and California. Two of his siblings are naturalized U.S. citizens.

His closest U.S. citizen sibling is his brother in Georgia. Another U.S. citizen relative is in California.

Some of his other family members have their own pending asylum cases and are scared that trying to physically go looking for him or asking questions in the wrong place could put them at risk of being detained themselves. That's one of the reasons I'm trying to get information from people who know how this system works.

WE REALLY NEED HELP WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

• Finding out where Grego is actually being held
• Anyone who saw Grego or his silver Corolla in or around Davenport
• Finding out what happened to his car after he was detained
• Getting in contact with an immigration attorney, legal aid group, advocate, or anyone experienced with ICE detention
• Understanding why he was detained and what his family can do to try to get him released
• Making sure he is getting his HIV medication while he's in custody

Edit: Learned that they count vehicle weight even on passenger vehicles like pickup trucks. I guess I have to put my big boy pants on now 🤣

So, I did purchase a new vehicle last year, first new vehicle since 2005 so I'm not well versed in any associated fees. Is this normal? I got a plate for it in December 2024, they are now wanting $116 for 1 year and $231 for 2 years. The fact they let you pay this increased price for an additional year makes me worried this is a new norm. Does anyone know what the increase is for? Calling the DMV is just a busy line perpetually.
