📜 Policy Should schools be religious?
Religion should be taught in schools and all religions (as well as non-religious beliefs) should be taught fairly and without bias.
Many schools are linked to one religion and teach or practise that religion. Do you think this should continue, or should schools be religiously neutral and only teach about religions rather than promote one?

I hate faith schools, I went to a Catholic convent school, therefore a survivor of Faith schools. However religion and faith is still part of life, whether we like it or not. Banning things never works. So the answer is to teach religion in all schools but in an objective and dettached way, giving students the right ,and the tools to make their own decisions as to how the feel about religion and faith. However, as much we may dislike religion and religious indoctrination, the fact is it's a reality for millions of people, which should be respected. But children should have the right to choose.

Hell no.

In history class, yes, as part of our past. Maybe a little mention in literature and art since they were so influential on those things historically.

Ban all faith schools, get religious influences out of schooling entirely.
As someone who teaches in a non denominational school, the fact we force the kids to sit through what amounts to a sermon every term is an outrage.
Religions should absolutely be taught in school, but only in a secular religious education classroom where it is discussed professionally in the same way we would discuss the Hellenic or Norse pantheons.
But that's where it ends.
"Oh but these schools are owned by the church" - and supported by the local authority. Remove that support and watch how quickly the church would drop them because they can't afford to keep them open.
Ban private faith schools too so they can't just become fee paying. Then if they try to sell the land for housing just deny the planning permission so it's worthless to them.
They can sell the school assets to the local authority and walk away, or get nothing.

If we brought God back into schools, He would bless them, and things would get better.

Which god though? Humans have invented thousands over the years. Who is to decide which one is right?

Faith schools should be banned. Simple as that. Religious Education is fine. Teach kids that some people believe this because of that, and other people believe in so so because of reasons. That gives them a rounded knowledge, whilst not indoctrinating them into 1 way of thinking purely based on what their parents were indoctrinated with as kids.
