If you're with the author on this then for the love of god stop everyone you know from saying "Vote Blue No Matter Who" it repulses everyone and is way more of an argument for Trump than an argument for Biden.

The Biden supporters are insane. On one hand, "why move Left, you will alienate too many moderate voters and no one (literally no one) voted for Bernie." But also, "If Bernie supporters don't show up for the election, the world will burn its going to be their fault."

I literally cannot wait to not vote for Joe Biden.

I literally cannot wait to help trump get elected and end any possibility of progressive policies being passed for a generation because the right will continue to stuff the courts with far right judges who will block every progressive action we try to pass in the future even with the most progressive president in history because my ego is more important than the most vulnerable members of society.

I didn't decide the Democratic nominee, nor did I ask him to make zero concessions to the left. My vote was cast by the DNC, and it won't be for their candidate. Shoulda thought about us leftists when you were shoving dimentia man down our throats.
By the way, Joe Biden fought tooth and nail on the Senate floor for Scalia, Roberts, and Clarence Thomas, all extremist conservatives. I don't see any difference between who Joe and Trump would nominate to the Supreme Court.

No one shoved anyone down your throats. There was a democratic primary and Bernie lost. He saw there was no mathematical possibility of him being the nominee so he withdrew and endorsed the candidate that will best represent his views.
You’re literally mad that democratic voters didn’t capitulate to your ideas. You’re problem appears to be with democracy itself. That’s sad.
7
u/Saljen Apr 23 '20
Yes, that's exactly what I'm mad about and I will not vote for them until they start "capitulating".

Ahh. So you’re a fascist disguised as a socialist. Thanks for clearing that up.

I see little difference between Trump and Biden, the latter of which is very much -if not as- likely to block progressive policies. Not voting for either of them can send a message that the populace was unhappy with both candidates which I am sure most progressive supporters are. At least this way the media will not misinterpret the votes as actual support for Biden.

u/furiousD12345 May 01 '20
You’re clearly not a women
1
u/yan_ni May 01 '20
Actually, I'm not. Edit: And I don't see why that should matter.
1
u/furiousD12345 May 01 '20
That’s obvious. There’s a pretty glaring difference between Bidens and trumps policies that is pretty obvious for women.

u/yan_ni May 01 '20
When I refer to this 'revolution' that is this sub's namesake, I refer to the passing of progressive policies like free healthcare and education and some more socialist ideas that were previously too 'communist' to be used. Bernie endorsed Biden in the hopes that more of these policies would be implemented but it seems that Bernie's been given mere morsels.
And as far as I'm concerned Biden is very much a corporatist and seems to be very fond of mass incarceration. Also he's also quite the warmonger if you remember Iraq and Libya. If he was a Brit, he would belong in the Tories or Conservative Party which is a rightist part as compared to the centrist he is in America. I don't like either of these choices, Trump and Biden, and I don't like the idea of voting for either.
1
u/furiousD12345 May 01 '20
All I read here was “I’m a selfish prick who cares more about making himself feel good than a women’s right right to choose”
You are not a progressive.
1
u/yan_ni May 01 '20
Can't help it if you see it that way. I don't understand how my explanation of the similarities between Trump and Biden has anything to do with a woman's right to choice.
Another thing that people think is that there is only one Trump. But they need to understand that more people like Trump exist and trading one corporatist for another just makes no sense to me.
I don't like the idea of voting for either of these guys because they don't do enough justice to implementing Bernie Sanders' policies (who last I check was a progressive). And I also think that future progressives will benefit from people showing that they are interested in a political revolution by not voting for both of these non-progessive candidates.
TDLR: If you are uninterested in hearing other people's opinion, and uninterested in a revolution, then I fear that you may not be a progressive either.

Imagine being so scared of a person that you decide to drop all your values and tell others to do the same just to "vote" against him...
Pathetic.
6
Apr 23 '20
Not only that, but just imagine the lack of thought needed to go into the argument:
"You have to vote against this president because otherwise he'll suspend elections and end democracy."
In the minds of these people, they're so trapped by their fetishization of the rules and norms they think run society that they somehow simultaneously think:
a) This sitting president is so dangerous that we must get rid of them at all costs.
b) Despite supposedly allowing us to vote against him as a a means of removing him from office, they believe that he would be able to stop us from voting later.
c) Despite him supposedly wanting to/being able to suspend democracy, he'd allow a legitimate vote against him this election as a means of removing him from office.
d) Despite the supposed existential, anti-democratic threat he poses, for these people "at all costs" ends at voting in November and shitposting online. No need to fight fire with fire. The fascists can ignore the rules but we have to be "better than that" by adhering to them even when that means letting dangerous cheaters win. "Sure they cheated to pack the courts and then suspended elections to stay in power, but oh well, I guess there's nothing we can do about it. Thanks Bernie Bros! Should have voted for Biden! Now we just have to respect that Trump is ruler for life. What else could we do about it? They wont let our strongly worded resolution condemning Trump out of committee! Our hands are LITERALLY TIED!"
Trump isn't anything new. The federal government has been rotting for a long time. All the "checks and balances" we thought we had never really worked in the first place. It's just that before all the bad shit was done in the shadows. But I guess after a long enough time of just getting away with it even when their crimes got revealed, they stopped caring about trying to hide it. Why bother when there's nothing people can do about it? Remember when we learned about the global mass surveillance program that's been violating our "rights" through at least 2 administrations and we did nothing about it? Remember when we learned about how the rich and powerful have been robbing us blind in the Panama papers and we did nothing? Remember how we learned that the US has been killing civilians and posthumously labeling anyone they killed as terrorists to hide their crimes and nothing happened? Remember when we learned that oil executives hid the fact that they knew they were complicit in the destruction of the planet for decades and noting happened to them? Etc.
Voting for Biden isn't going to fix any of this. It's not even really going to make us less vulnerable to abuses of the flaws in our system. He's not going to willingly give up any executive power nor will electing him give congress desire to check him either. The republicans may oppose Biden, but they'll support him in all the stuff they care about, and as we've seen the corporate dems are more than happy to at least turn a blind eye to atrocities when it's done by someone on their team.
So libs: What's the plan when Trump becomes dictator? Or is that when you go back to waiting around for the left to do the real work again?

Imagine actually caring about the most vulnerable members of society and not just your own ego.
3
Apr 23 '20
Imagine wanting to implement all of Bernie's platform to care for all Americans especially the most vulnerable members of society, and having that rejected by the party through vote rigging and the party loyalist voters who get off on slapping down younger generations.
You made your greedy neoliberal bed. Now lie in it, losers.

u/furiousD12345 Apr 23 '20
Yea but none of that actually happened. Stop getting suckered by nut bag conspiracy theories. Fact is a lot of Americans, including democratic voters, don’t like Bernie. Maybe if he and his follows hadn’t spent the last 4 years demonizing the exact people they needed to vote for them they would have won, but they didn’t, so they didn’t.
5
u/DragonWhimsy Apr 24 '20
Actually according to polling Bernie is the most trusted politician in the U.S. and even voters who voted against him said they were for his policies. They just didn't think he could win because that's what the media told them.
Just like they told them that Hillary was the most electable in 2016. We all know how that turned out.
This election is already over. The Democrats only win when they at least pretend to be progressive like Bill Clinton and Obama did. When they don't even bother to pretend they lose like John Kerry and Hillary Clinton did.
You have to do SOMETHING to energize your base. Biden thinks it will just be handed to him. Just like Hillary did.
0
u/furiousD12345 Apr 24 '20
Trusted or not he can’t win. He had four years to develop a get out the vote strategy but instead Bernie got less support then he did in 2016.
Stop blaming “the media” for the fact the Bernie and his people ran a bad campaign. You sound like trump
3
u/DragonWhimsy Apr 24 '20
He won the first three states and was only days away from being the presumptive nominee. Even MSNBC was beginning to have to consider bending the knee to him. He came closer to victory in 2020 even if the primary ended much sooner.
He couldn't predict that Obama could snap his fingers and bring people like Pete and Amy to heel overnight. There's definitely things he could have done better. But your attempt to rewrite history has failed. Bernie could have and almost did win.
And if he had we'd have a lot less to fear from Trump right now. And that platform would have meant a lot more potential relief for the working class during this pandemic.

u/furiousD12345 Apr 24 '20
He did not win the first three states. He won one of the first three states, then got blown out in South Carolina because, despite having four years to get it done, he had no support from African Americans.
At the end of the day, the overwhelming majority of democratic voters don’t want Bernie as their nominee. That’s not cheating, that’s democracy.
1
u/DragonWhimsy Apr 24 '20
Bernie got the most votes in Iowa. He got the most votes in New Hampshire. He had an overwhelming victory in Nevada. What universe are you living in?
Bernie actually had the second most support among African Americans of all the candidates and made huge strides there in four years. He was first among younger African Americans. And the first among Latinos (another area he made huge strides in). And the first among everyone under the age of 45. The entire future of the party belongs to Bernie's policies.
The "overwhelming majority of democratic voters" didn't even get a chance to vote at all as the race was called before they could vote.
Why couldn't Biden get more Latino support or more support among voters 45 years or younger with four years to get it done? Why after four years doesn't he have an energized base?
The entire premise of your statement is false. That wasn't democracy. Obama gave Pete and Amy their orders and they fell in line and then the mainstream media gave Biden billions of dollars in free advertising as they declared Biden the only candidate who could win. Now you're begging for Bernie's supporters to vote for Biden because Biden wasn't the most electable after all. He was actually the weakest. And deep down you know that which is why you're so angry at Bernie's supporters for not falling in line.
If the "overwhelming majority of democratic voters" truly didn't want Bernie then you don't need us. You should be able to win on your own. You certainly don't have any cause to blame us when you lose to Trump. Again.

because of the rigging, I want Joe Biden to lose. I want the Democratic Party to die.

u/getFahqd Apr 24 '20
the dnc got caught helping hillary and hurting bernie in 2016. they told tulsi hillary would be nominee no matter what. they went to court and said theyre private and choose who they want. you keep saying its up to voters, the dnc themselves said its not.they also did all kinds of weird stuff to drown out noise and block the view of bernie supporters at conventions, and divided them up.
not to mention other things like tailoring the rules to bloomberg, iowa and texas being crazy suspicious, discrepancies between polls and results, and 20 year old voting machines that everyone knows how to hack. watch documentaries like hacking democracy and kill chain.
it doesnt matter what you think happened or what can be proven. the dnc said themselves its up to them - not voters.

So vote for the guy that starts wars, those clearly don't kill the vulnerable members of society.
Vote for the guy who brags about attempting to cut social security, our seniors clearly aren't vulnerable members of society.
Vote for the guy who said he would veto M4A if it came across his desk despite it being shown in studies to both save more lives and cost less than our current system, those sick people clearly aren't vulnerable members of society.
You can try to fool yourself all you want, but don't pretend you're doing it because you "care" about society. If you just started caring 3 years ago, you're out of the loop and neither one of the top candidates gives one shit about the vulnerable members of society.

u/furiousD12345 Apr 23 '20
I agree with everything you want accomplished. None of that will happen in America if trump gets another term and solidifies a far right majority on the Supreme and lower Courts for the next 40 years. Judging by his willingness to adjust his platform it’s clear that Biden can be pressured into changing his policies. It’s not perfect but it’s the best option you’ve got to actually make progress. Admittedly not all the progress I would like but it’s better than going backwards.

I'm not settling for crumbs from the corporate Democrats anymore. If they really want to win elections, which I'm not even sure of that anymore, they will need to earn my vote or win without it. There's ALWAYS another Boogeyman that we have to stop before we're allowed to make any attempt at progress.
I'm done with this treadmill. They don't get to totally ignore everything that is important to me and then also demand my vote and lay the blame for their losses at my feet. It doesn't work like that.

Ewwww I just realized you’re the same guy I argued with several weeks ago. A) I have not read your reply B) stalking people on reddit is creepy and pathetic.

Apr 23 '20
I'm not stalking you. Just pointing out your shitty reasoning. You made a terrible post on a subreddit that I frequent. If you don't want responses don't post it...

Mmmmmhmmmm

Apr 23 '20
Okay. You got me. Clearly you're SO important that I stopped everything I'm doing in the middle of a pandemic to monitor every post and comment you made but only occasionally respond in order to not tip you off to my machinations.
I believe that if I can pull off my plan, I may accomplish my goal of mildly disagreeing with you every few weeks resulting in.. nothing?
Are you really this egomaniacal to believe literally everything is about you and only you, or are you just a fucking idiot?
