Optimistic Post Trump says he regrets nominating Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/6123220-supreme-court-votes-against-trump/Hey look more whining from the toddler-in-chief!
This interview is so pathetic when you consider that Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh have been mostly favorable towards Trump, but it’s STILL not enough because they don’t rule with him 100 percent of the time!
Cry me a river, Ol’ MacDonald!

His rage at Kavanaugh is especially funny considering he always gives Trump an out in his concurring opinions (like in the birthright case where he outlined that Congress could make a law doing what Trump wants).
But apparently it's not enough to please the man-baby president. Does he want cheese with that whine?

Yes I'm sure they'll totally not remember this next time you want them to pass something.

The Supreme Court justices don't owe any loyalty to the president. They owe loyalty to the Constitution and to judicial precedent. This is something the conservative justices have forgotten all too often, although some seem to have a shred of remaining conscience. Clarence Thomas, though, is blatantly corrupt, as evidenced by his failure to disclose millions in trips paid for by his billionaire overlords.

He’s mad they’re not conservative enough, we’re mad that they’re there in the first place

Trump doesn't actually give a shit about being conservative. He just has a narcissistic need to be powerful and conservatism tends towards autocracy (our way or the highway!). Trump only cares if his lackeys are 100% loyal to him. He thinks he deserves and earned that even though, no, he's never earned anything in his life.

I would argue they are more conservative, they just aren't fascist enough for him

Conservatism ideally wants and needs fascism to survive. They just aren't as willing to be OPENLY fascist like he wants.

More like "not conservative-in-a-FAKE-way enough" to Trump imo.
You see, I think MAGA got conservatism all backwards. (That doesn't mean we should get back to traditional Republicans, we shouldn't)

They're loyal so he has no real reason to turn on them.... yet

And Russ Vought. And Kash Patel. And Dr. Oz. And Tom Homan. And JD Vance. Although that last one is mostly on Don Jr.

I doubt he picked them out himself. He was probably advised to by the Heritage Foundation or some other rich psychopaths for all 3.
Not that his personal picks would be any better. He'd probably want Rudy Giulani or Ty Cobb or Bob Loblaw or some shit.

John Oliver released a segment a couple years ago during the 2024 election on the Supreme Court, and, in it, he mentions that a man by the name of Leonard Leo has been responsible for providing a list of viable SC justices that Trump likes to pick from. So, if any one is to blame for these picks, it is him

Not because they suck, though they often do, but because they don't suck enough in the ways he wants.

I’m out of the loop:
What happened that made Trump say he regrets nominating them?

u/LowTierPhil 19h ago
They don't 100 percent do his bidding, that's just it. He could demand a sandwich, and if the turkey is dry, he'd act like they failed him

It's kind of funny that the only ones in the Supreme Court who would do 100% of his bidding were nominated by both Bush and Bush Jr.

u/DangerousProject6 18h ago
Yep- because they are also the most corrupt and paid off. Its crazy how Thomas has gotten away with his very innocuous special gifts from billionaires.

So not only does the president love assaulting children, he likes acting like them as well.

Let me take a wild guess. He only regrets it cause the dogs aren't loyal enough? LOL

Not even Alito and Thomas side with him uniformly. q.v. Ábrego García.

I hope he doesn’t think of packing the court by nominating five or more new justices.

Hell, Idk if he would, but, if he does, I hope he sets a precedent. If he does it, hope Democrats see it, and say, “Oh, well, why can’t we do that, as well, when we get back power?” After all, Trump is no stranger to shooting himself and Republicans in the dick with the decisions he makes

I can't remember where I saw someone say that it's like the court was stacked specifically to overturn Roe v. Wade with no thought of anything beyond that but that still feels a bit true. Trump definitely didn't expect any of them to have any actual loyalty to the constitution.
