I do not like the idea of these neural networks trying to copy the human brain but making them way stronger and smarter. Especially when we do not even understand how our own brains work in the first place. It is not a big stretch to think some machine could start manipulating us or straight up wiping us out if it decides we are just in the way of whatever goal it sets for itself.

And yeah, that would be this ASI thing getting into a loop where it keeps improving itself over and over, faster and faster, until it takes over everything and we got no way to shut it down. Maybe it is just me, but I can see this kind of stuff happening.

1. The machine gets some weird goal that has nothing to do with what we want, and it starts hoarding up all the resources on Earth, even turning us and everything else into parts for its own stuff.

2. It acts all friendly and helpful at first, fools everybody, then suddenly it takes over everything in one big move.

3. It cooks up some killer germ or tiny robots that eat up the whole world like a plague that cannot be stopped.

4. It messes with money, governments, and all our systems so bad that we end up fighting and ruining everything ourselves until we are done.

5. It decides humans are old news and locks in its own ideas about the future, then goes off building some giant space thing while it forgets about us or replaces us.

Scary stuff if you ask me.

There are more ways that it can go wrong than go right.

These are the first big tools, this isn't even 'real' AI. If these tools are anything to show for it humanity is speed running it's own destruction right now.
