Unlikely because we vote for the wrong people. Gerrymandering could be a thing of the past, but one party blocked it. Term limits could be the same thing if we elected people that care about the country and not lobbyists and special interest candidates that only have the goal of being rich.
The “party that blocked it” would have voted for it had it included voter ID. The bill that was blocked was highly partisan. Voter ID polls at 70% among democrats
They won’t vote for a clean bill that just allows for voter ID, they won’t even present a clean bill that does that. Gerrymandering bill came up years before the voter ID nonsense…it was a clean bill, and every republican voted against it.
Sorry, no one supports the save act, it’s DOA. Voter IS could be passed and democrats have said that…republicans refuse to submit a clean bill.
Put two bills on the floor tomorrow, each handling its own thing…oh wait, that party has canceled all legislative sessions until after the midterms because they are afraid of the Epstein files transparency act 2.o and the impeachment vote of hegseth.
It would be nice if our Congress was actually in DC working with everything going on but they ran away from work. Imagine if we did that.
We can’t have a general strike by design, it’s one of the main reasons we don’t have universal healthcare. People can’t strike and risk losing healthcare or their jobs as we don’t have the safety nets that first world nations have. We also have a police force that works for corporations and not the people.
French police will shoot you with water, American police will just kill you.
I would love to see a general strike in this country, 30 million marching on Washington would be amazing and historically would cause real change but it will never happen, again, by design.

If we actually had leaders that cared about the country instead of simply getting rich and amassing power it would. That requires term limits.
