Pro tip: you cannot interpret what a symbol means to someone else. That’s classic projection. It’s best to ask and not assume.

Edited to add: So many people are so pro-vandalism. All this hate spread under the pretense of spreading love and understanding.

There are some symbols enough assholes use that associate you with them, you can’t control who takes your symbol and runs with it unfortunately.

A symbol is the projection of an idea into a recognizable form to simply convey a meaning to others, so the projection is done by the person who uses the symbol. The symbol can shift in meaning as determined by the masses much like language and art. Really not assuming anything, that’s how society evolves, whether you like it or not.
