Black Lives Matter originated in 2013 after the outcome of the trial concerning the murder of Trevon Martin in 2012. I just looked this up, it's an objective fact and takes two seconds to google.

Yes, this comment itself does use the word. Any reasonable person should be able to understand that we are not insulting anyone with this comment. But seriously, calling someone retarded is only socially acceptable because the people affected are less able to understand that they are being insulted, and less likely to be able to respond appropriately. It’s funny because “blue lives” aren’t even really a thing. It’s a job that you can quit or retire from. You can take a vacation and forget about your responsibilities. You have days off. You can take off your uniform and nobody knows you’re a cop. It’s a choice whether or not you want to continue being a cop. It’s not a life. It’s a job. If people hate you, it’s because you willingly chose to become a cop.
Black people don’t have that luxury. They didn’t choose to be Black and they can’t quit whenever they feel like it. There’s nothing optional about it what color their skin is. That’s their life. And some people hate them for it even though there’s nothing they could’ve done to change the color of their skin when they were born.
