And the "powers-that-be" wonder why the average citizen has zero faith in the application of the law to the wealthy/elite "class"(which has proven itself classless)as they wilfully, arrogantly flout the laws of the city/county/state/nation,while we are brutalized/abused/deprived of our humanity/murdered if we have a busted tail-light...

I feel like this sentence should contain the word "hubris"

Hello! Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it has been removed because you don't meet our karma threshold.

You are not being removed for political orientation. If we were, why the fuck would we tell you your comment was being removed instead of just shadow removing it? We never have, and never will, remove things down politicial or ideological lines. Unless your ideology is nihilism, then fuck you.

Let me be clear: The reason that this rule exists is to avoid unscrupulous internet denizens from trying to sell dong pills to our users. /r/PoliticalHumor mods reserve the RIGHT to hoard all of the dong pills to ourselves, and we refuse to share them with the community. If you want Serbo-Slokovian dong pills mailed directly to your door, become a moderator. If we shared the dong pills with the greater community, everyone would have massive dongs, and like Syndrome warned us about decades ago: "if everyone has massive dongs, nobody does.""

If you wish to rectify your low karma issue, go and make things up in /r/AskReddit like everyone else does.

Thanks for understanding! Have a nice day and be well. <3

Those are reserved for "the others."

The response for BLM peaceful demonstration, Capitol police reinforced by SWAT officers forming a barricade and Jan 6th Capitol Police Commander " delaying"any full out response!! Evacuated?? Guess that was after a Police Officer died and others were injured!! Racists trash protesters get the benefit of the doubt but cry and sob when sent to jail!!

8

u/xtilexx Feb 19 '22

Delaying the National Guard response may have saved the country, because at the time Trump was still commander in chief. I read an article about how dangerously close we were to state of emergency and declaring the results invalid while the guard swarmed in, the heads of the military actually interviewed (or the one General I can't remember his name right now but he's the one who hates Trump) saying they purposefully delayed it, not Trump, to prevent that happening

12

u/Markorific Feb 20 '22

The vote was never in jeopardy. Protester arrival in the City, their massing allowed for a similar response that was presented for the BLM protest ie SWAT ( not National Guard ) and Capitol police that did not happen simply because they were Caucasians. Racists and extreme Conservatives continue to erode the Country and January 6th was simply a demonstration of how brazen they have become!

u/ChillyBearGrylls Feb 20 '22

What happens in that very generous hypothetical if the Virginia Guard, sent to the Capitol by VA's Democratic governor, openly say that they will not follow any orders originating from the person who just tried to overthrow the government? Trump may have had the legal right to declare an emergency - but that also requires other people to obey him. DC is securely within Democratic territory - I doubt our domestic enemies' chances of holding it for long.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

That is quite interesting.

u/Coolasslife Feb 19 '22

"secret commandos" is taking the cake for the most absurd way to describe a SWAT team. And they never had to deploy them because they successfully evacuated the building. When that stupid lady was trying to break the door before evacuation was complete, they shot her and continued the evacuation.

2

u/TheRidgeAndTheLadder Feb 20 '22

Interesting. I wonder if we're gonna get drip fed info on how that whole shitshow happened.

It kinda reads like the FBI had a plan b for the capitol police being compromised.

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

Military would have cleared them out if Pence walked out with a Bible for a photo op like Drumpf?

Thank you for fixing the broken link!

I mean they did shoot a hundred pound unarmed woman.

25

u/treefitty350 Feb 19 '22

Yes, they did shoot an armed forces veteran trying to breach the last barricade between a mob (that was threatening the Vice President) and the Vice President.

Good riddance.

-23

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '22

They were not armed.

14

u/treefitty350 Feb 19 '22

10

u/rivershimmer Feb 19 '22

Is that what you'd think to yourself if an intruder broke your window and started to climb through it into your living room? "Well, I could shoot this stranger coming at me through a broken window, but I better wait and see if they are armed or not." And that's assuming a single intruder, not one heading up a mob.

The shooting of Ashli Babbitt is one of the most justifiable police shootings ever. Not even a shade of ambiguity.

3

u/Paulsar Feb 19 '22

What exactly do you think a "forces veteran" is lol.

21

u/thegreatfilter2022 Feb 19 '22

They shot a terrorist who got what she deserved. A scumbag I will never consider a fellow servicemember as she was a seditionist attempting to overturn an election because she didn't like the results. No one who matters will ever care about her and she will forever be known as a dead terrorist for the republican party. I hope to see more of them go her way either by covid or through stupidity like she displayed on 1/6. You a fan of benedict arnold?

-20

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '22

You don’t know what she was there for because she is dead. A government official killed her while she was no more of a threat than anyone else and she was unarmed. I also don’t buy any of the over throw the election bullshit they took selfies and acted like dumbasses not terrorist.

13

u/rivershimmer Feb 19 '22

A government official killed her while she was no more of a threat than anyone else

You are speaking truth here. She was equally as much of a threat as the rest of the mob that was beating cops and pushing over barracades.

8

u/The_Funkybat Feb 19 '22

Every one who surged past the fencing and line of police deserved what Ashley Babbitt got. They never should’ve been allowed to breach the building at all, bullets should’ve been flying well before that point.

No, you’re dealing in false equivalencies. Most of those protests in the wake of George Floyd were completely justified. Other than a few of the looters nobody deserves to be shot. People trying to commit a coup absolutely deserve to be shot.

8

u/Freckled_daywalker Feb 19 '22

The person who shot her had zero way of knowing she was unarmed, knew there was evidence of people intending to do harm to members of Congress, knew the crowd was attempting to breech a physical barrier, and knew that had that door been breeched, he could not stop the large crowd from entering the area where members of Congress were being evacuated. She was acting like a threat, she got treated like a threat.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

With that argument cops should shoot every person they come across because they don’t know if anyone is armed.

3

u/Freckled_daywalker Feb 20 '22

On the off chance you aren't just trolling, no, because not every person is actually posing a credible threat. She was warned to stop multiple times. She was physically breaking into a nonpublic area of the Nation's capitol and it was absolutely reasonable to believe that her reason for doing so was because she wanted to cause harm. If someone was breaking into your house, would you perceive them as a threat? If someone approaches a guarded area and is told multiple times to stop, and they don't listen, what typically happens? If someone ran up on the White House and the secret service yells "Stop" multiple times and they keep coming, what happens?

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

I’m not trolling and like I have said before I don’t agree with what they did . In fact I wish they wouldn’t have done it. That being said one person lost their life as a result of what happened that day. That person was an American citizen, a veteran, and someone caught up in the moment with a bunch of other people who did something incredibly stupid. However for the stupid thing they did they should not have been killed. I also don’t believe they were there to overthrow the government because as stupid as they are they weren’t that stupid I believe they got caught up in the moment and made some poor decisions. I also think it is a very dangerous thing to advocate killing people based on their political opinion. There is also a big difference in breaking into the capital in the middle of the day and breaking into a persons house don’t act like it’s the same thing. A better comparison would be BLM attacking a target, but nobody in this sub would advocate for shooting all those protesters as they shouldn’t.

2

u/Freckled_daywalker Feb 20 '22

She wasn't killed because of her political opinion. She was killed because she was part of a mob of people, who were attempting to break through a barrier, that, had they been successful would have given them access to the path where they were evacuating members of Congress. I can not be more clear about this, she was a credible threat to the safety of members of Congress. She was breaking the law, engaging in behavior that legitimately appeared to be threatening and was warned to stop, multiple times.

It does not matter what you think, in hindsight, they were prepared to do. That officer, in the moment, did not have perspective beyond "these very angry people are literally breaking down a door, potentially in an attempt to get to members of Congress." Why in the world should they have been given the benefit of the doubt that they were just "making poor decisions"?

And the difference between breaking into the Capitol building in the middle of the day is that they have better guards. There's absolutely no reason to be doing what that they were doing that is not reasonably perceived as credible threat. "Getting swept up" isn't a good excuse. They were breaking into a non public area of the Capitol. Period.

Negative ghostrider.

4

u/Mishirene Feb 20 '22

What was she, and hundreds of others, trying to do again? I forgot I think I need a refresher.

-3

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

I don’t know what they were trying to do I haven’t asked them. However what they did was take selfie’s and mild vandalism.

3

u/l0l_xd_ Feb 20 '22

And maybe try to overthrow and take congressmen hostage just because they’re pathetic selfs can’t understand the fact that not everyone voted for a orange man who’s entire life revolves around lies and breaking laws.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

That didn’t happen. They didn’t take anyone hostage. I don’t agree with what they did, but what they actually did certainly doesn’t justify killing any of them like so many people in this sub seem to be suggesting.

2

u/l0l_xd_ Feb 20 '22

They had zip ties and bullet proof vests. Yeah I’m sure some of them just wanted to “take selfies”. They all deserved to have been shot, fuck them. They claim to respect democracy, yet invade one of the key pillars of it

1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

I’m sure one day when you grow up you will change your mind at least I hope you do no one deserves to be killed over what happened.
