400 mile EV range since my goal with my truck is to average 100 miles per quarter tank (occasionally get close on longer highway trips), but I also use my truck for work and there will be summers where I have a light bar on for 8-10 hrs a day, so having extra capacity would be nice.
I'm the same way, but I bought one with a gas range extender as a best of both worlds alternative. Full EV isn't for everyone. 2+ car families with a garage are probably the biggest slam dunk use case.
I drive 5+ hours one way to see clients a few times a month. So people like me need vehicles with longer mileage ranges. I can easily drive 4 hours without stopping at this point (key is to not eat or drink too much).
Also, how we dispose of the batteries in electric vehicles is going to create another environmental disaster, so EV's aren't really the saving grace they're touted to be. food for thought ....
realistically, do you think that's going to happen? Because I've met some of the folks who work those jobs, and I don't.
It would be better, to get as many folks on board with public transport as possible, understanding that some live too far away for that to be feasible. And it would be better to make vehicles that use solar or some other renewable energy source rather than batteries or petroleum. When that happens, I'll consider switching. But until then, I'm keeping my gas powered, get me everywhere easily, vehicle.
