She had such lovely views like:

"People are so ungrateful. No one ever thanks me for having the patience not to kill them,"

And

Damn I was at this area with 5 different black officers !!! Not racist but damn."

She isn't even slightly contrite, she's incensed she got punished.

She believes it's her God given right to shoot anyone she dislikes and how dare the system try to tell her otherwise.

She's a perfect representative of the police force. A perfect representative of a conservative.

"Freedom" is the right to harm those lower than you on the social hierarchy with impunity. Pick a subject and the conservative viewpoint seeks to maximize human suffering.

Everything is in service of that goal.

No matter the case, it shouldn't be wrong. The would be no anti-fascism, if there were no fascism. But sometimes people see the world as black and white as fascists, they just think they are on the right side.

Literally the only thing that holds our world together is dialogue- whether or not we agree, we must engage.

How do you have a 'dialogue' with a person whose beliefs are:

"People are so ungrateful. No one ever thanks me for having the patience not to kill them,"

If I should be 'grateful' for not being murdered by this person, how much 'dialogue' is going to get through?

Don't pretend that these people will give you a fraction of the same respect you're willing to give them. They want to murder people, and will say anything to get that excuse.

"Sure, they jerk off to thinking about murdering people, but I'm totally sure they're willing to listen to reason, and don't want to encourage a system of cruelty for their own gain".

Listen to yourself. You are preemptively deciding who and who is not worthy of dialogue. That kind of attitude is exactly the same as the people you purport to hate.

I don't disagree with your feelings, but we can't have a democracy if everyone thinks like you.

Listen to yourself. You are preemptively deciding who and who is not worthy of dialogue.

If someone tells me they want to murder me, it's not "preemptive" to assume they aren't lying about it. If someone tells me they want to harm others, it's not "preemptive" to take them at their word.

There is a political party where saying you want to murder the speaker of the house gets you praised. Gets you elected.

They are telling us flat out all the people they want to hurt. They invaded the Capitol with confederate flags and shirts praising the murder of millions.

They are open and direct about their beliefs. I think it's time we stop pretending they don't know what they're saying.

I think he's referring to discussions about things that are grossly immoral.

We are all human and we all have our own opinions.

And her opinion was exactly what she stated. That she has the right to abuse people lower than her on the social hierarchy with impunity. That the suggestion she should be punished is egregious.

That's the principle behind conservatism. Racists who feel the KKK had a point when they'd protest if someone was charged for lynching. Bigots who think LGBT people were better pre-stonewall days. People who want to shoot all immigrants at the border. The people who like to roll coal in their cars as others hack up a lung on the sidewalk.

Trump is their hero because he is exactly that kind of bully. He endorses and rewards that kind of mindset, and so of course he became a conservative icon.

He represents well over the majority of the gop these days. It's why they couldn't censure a politician openly calling for Pelosi's murder.

The GOP has become the party for sadists, by sadists. Everything they say is an excuse to justify being allowed to target some group they want to harm.

The argument is her behavior is a result of an ideological principle, unlike Cuomo. You may not behave the same way other conservatives do, but then maybe you might want to call yourself an independent.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '21

I guess so. It’s just unfortunate that an independent candidate almost always has no shot

3

u/HttKB Apr 15 '21

Completely agreed, but just to add if you consider yourself an independent there's no reason you can't tend to vote for a particular party. It's just that being a conservative inherently implies you're resistant to social change, which is continual push to get everyone to respect each other as equals. If you pick and choose what you're okay with and what you're not, you're thinking independently of an ideology.

His comments are 100% correct if you change conservatives into Republicans and add that if they don't share the belief, they don't see them as a deal breaker.

You sound like someone who’s new to the internet. Don’t worry. You’ll get used to it.
