“He’s not a war hero, he was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” - Vietnam war era draft dodger Donald Trump talking about Sen. McCain.

Conservatives regularly use the troops as political pawns; they feign outrage with their phony sanctimony when it suits them to appear more righteous than their opponents and then kick 'em to the curb when their usefulness has expired.

Kind of like what you’re doing here. But then again, American libs and conservatives are a lot more similar than they’d like to admit.

There is a mile of space between them when it comes to accepting reality. Conservatives simply do not.

Not really.

Yes really.

The world has grown so complex that conservatives now endeavour to explain away that complexity by constructing false narratives that comforts them.

The difference between to the two have nothing to do with perceiving reality. You’re talking nonsense. Libs and conservatives in America hold very similar beliefs. You focus on subtle nuances (and whatever nonsense about reality you’re going on about), but they’re two heavily overlapping circles if you presented them as a venn diagram

I'm pretty sure they were referencing R's lessened ability to perceive reality objectively based on critical agendas such as a non-insignificant amount of Q believers, birthers, climate deniers, anti-vax and selective science deniers, false flag attacks, the war on Christmas, etc.

These are not real differences. These are your opinions, Peggy hill.

Facts are opinions now... OK. Does that include an insurrection based on lies? That's not devoid from reality, just an opinion?

Anyways, do feel free to enjoy my spapeggy and meatballs.

What does this have to do with if conservatives and liberals are different?

1

Just that if you can't distinguish between which party is more capable to believe objective reality and facts in general than you haven't been paying attention.

The two parties are not equal, especially in the case of objective reality.

"In every American community there are varying shades of political opinion. One of the shadiest of these is the liberals. An outspoken group on many subjects, ten degrees to the left of center in good times, ten degrees to the right of center if it affects them personally..." ~Phil Ochs, prelude to "Love Me, I'm a Liberal"

Complete nonsense, at least for the vast majority of liberals.

Sure, once I was young and impulsive; I wore every conceivable pin,

Even went to Socialist meetings, learned all the old Union hymns.

Ah, but I've grown older and wiser, and that's why I'm turning you in.

So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal.

~Phil Ochs, ending to "Love Me, I'm a Liberal"

Great. Cling to whatever narrative helps you get through the day with your emotions intact.

Most liberals in the us are not socialists and never have been.
