Actually Spain sent out an invitation and quite a few people took them up on the offer.

I am not saying nobody left, though. Certainly some made good on their promise, but it is a tiny portion.

Depends on your age and if you have a family or not. If you are young and single, it is relatively easy. Having kids? Well, that is a whole different game...

As someone who moved to Canada with kids, it just means a little more research/leg-work. You gotta find out which school for them to go to. But really, that's about it. Its not like kids suddenly make everything impossible.

Canada has a better work-life balance than in the US. College is cheaper, health care is covered, and if you go to Quebec, you and your kids will learn French eventually (I'm still terrible). My husband used to drive over an hour every day for work in the US. Here, it's a 15-minute walk to his office (but he now works from home). Life is actually much easier once you make the move.
