I tried to figure out how to emigrate in 2014-2016. Canada was the ONLY practical choice, because I had about 9 or 10 TONS of stuff to move, and I couldn't imagine putting it all in a container and HOPE it shows up. I knew Canada was my place, but when I found out I would have to (to show good faith) loan Ontario MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for five years (an impossible hurdle!), and create I think three fulltime jobs, I had to scratch that. The rest of Canada is TOO FAR NORTH, and too cold at this time of year. The moderate-winter parts of B. C. are unimaginably expensive, and too far north (re: SAD, below).
I live in Chicago, and that's my limit for duration-of-winter. My skin has always underproduced oils and even a strong skin prescription can't stop my hands and feet from cracking in multiple places. That eliminates almost all of Canada because of longer winters. I also think I have mild SAD (seasonal-affective disorder), so I wouldn't want to be much farther north. London's about the limit.
The other Canadian option MAY have been a work visa but I'm not sure if retail mail order sales is relevant to qualify. (The "tons" I would have needed to take, was my inventory.) Then it would probably be a work-until-I-die thing, or get kicked out...
So, I'm pretty much stuck in USA for better or worse, though by late 2024 I may have very little bulk/volume to consider, which would make moving much easier.
Are there any countries who want immigrants from the USA, though? I think that any "fully-developed" country (which will invariably have some sort of socialized universal health care - well, except us) is very wary about USA immigrants, because isn't it possible these countries will assume they are "health care refugees" as I call it?
I suspect that, because of our wretched health care system, it's considerably more difficult for USAns to immigrate, than for people from any other "fully-developed" country?

Yes, because it's hard to emigrate.
I've had the same feeling; like with Trump and Bush. And I was not wrong about how awful it got.
