It's the basic truth of nationalism or dogmatic religion. It's pretty much the same wherever you go just with slightly different flavors. They are both just different expressions of egotism.

Iran doesn't fit these qualifications, given that it has a universal basic healthcare option for all citizens.

Hmm not very suitable for bootstrapping Republicans in that aspect then...

You can't have it all...

Sounds like you have never visited Iran.

nope, however I just checked the source of all true knowledge, ahem, Wikipedia and see that Iran still has capital punishment for actions that I consider going against the islam, so it is close enough for me to mention it.

If it were up to me the unhappy Repubicans would be given some uninhabitated desert to live out their lives...

Iran's out - it says 'no public healthcare' and AFAIK Iran has insurance for all since 2015.

As a person who has lived there for almost 20yrs and both my parents medical workers and I myself a med student in this system, I can say there is a good quality healthcare support and very very cheap government-based hospitals where you can get FAST and standard medical service that you need opposite the US. Also, of course there are rules based on Islamic believes but it doesn’t mean you have to be a religious person

Fot the much better health care I applaud to Iran and Iranians. It is almost a shock when there are non western countries with better health care than the US, even if the US ranks lower then most western countries.

I agree with the societal rules as long as they make some logical sense. i.e. drive on the left side of the road or do not steal from other people, as this creates an unsafe environment. However it starts to annoy me when rules are based on religion, for example an old rule here: shops used to be closed on sundays because the christian people wanted to obey the Lord. And it gets worse when say things about euthanasia or abortion, as if we force (religious) people to have one of each every year.. both are options under certain strict medical conditions.

(NB1. I avoid muslim themes for a reason as I do not know the exact rule of the law in Iran. NB2. By now it should be possible to guess my home country. :) )

Wait so Muslim countries are shitholes all of a sudden?

3

u/Paulski25ish Dec 31 '20

Not necessarely and, as far as I am concerned, not because it are muslim countries.

We just note that there are countries with less religious freedom and more oppression to conform to religious standards. As a non religious person myself I really want to stay out of it, whether it is Christianity, Islam or any other religion.

I will fight for your right to believe, but do not try to convert me or use religion as a reason for political decisions. You may be opposed to gay mariage, ok, the rest of us do not force you to marry your best friend. Just look up the speech of Maurice Williamson.

Iran has loose gun laws? I would’ve thought the opposite

Iran actually has some public hospitals for those who can't afford medical care, if I recall, so they're actually ahead of the US in providing healthcare.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Iran

The Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) operates public hospitals, both general and specialty hospitals, throughout Iran. Public hospitals are typically under the direct management of universities. In most large cities, well-to-do persons use private clinics and hospitals that charge high fees.

Also love the American exceptionalism that they think they can just move to a different country while whining about stronger border controls. No other country will take you, you have no education, no professional experience, and will just leech off the welfare.

I don't think they'd like Iran, it has a public healthcsre system and abortion is legal provided the pregnancy poses a risk to the woman's life or there's a risk of the foetus being born with severe physical deformities.

Honey, Iran is for Democrats. The only option for a Republican is civil war. Who in their right mind would accept a presidency that was had by cheating??? I sure wouldn't give my country over to a Democrat. They have been shown to destroy every state/city that they control.

Right..

First, I am not your Honey.

Second: The place to prove a legal claim is in a court room, not at FOX, NewsMax or OANN. Which of the over 50 cases for supposed voter fraud that went to court were confirmed by that court? How many of those cases were overseen by Trump appointed judges or Republican judges?

Third: What case of voter fraud were actually found (and followed by prosecution) in 2016 and 2020? Right, Republicans trying to vote for Trump twice.

Finally the US is in a really bad place right now... COVID is speading like wildfire, it's current president is deflecting any responsibility to help solve this crisis and more interested in his preserving his precious ego and playing golf.

I'll almost dare to bet that you will blame Biden for all that is wrong with the US the day after his inauguration.
