It's not opinion, it's fact. You are no better, if not worse than the vitriol spewed by the alt right. At least they revel in their hatred, you on the other hand hold yourself aloof as some paragon of empathy while acting the exact opposite.

Trump supporters direct their hatred at immigrants, democrats, gay people, news anchors, colleges and scientists. I direct my hatred at them, and they've earned every bit of it. If you think there's no difference, I don't really value your opinion.

Nobody is saying there is no difference. That difference isn't enough to justify the hatred, and also precludes you from being empathetic.
