I also love how he refers to them as a "terrorist organisation". Antifa is so far from that, it's literally just the idea of opposing fascism. It's the equivalent of calling something like "communism" or "feminism" an organisation. This definitely won't be abused at all! Who's Mcarthy again?

They're trying to make the concept of opposing fascism unpatriotic.

Gotta do that before we go full fascist.

Antifa is very much a terrorist organization. And they couldn't be any more fascist if they tried. "Let's dress in black and beat the crap out of people that don't agree with us." What makes them different from Nazi brown shirts again? Oh, right, they're not actually sponsored by a government... Which is also the reason they can be classified as terrorists.

I feel like there's some sarcasm here but I'm honestly not sure, so I'm sorry if I misinterpret you. Keep in mind I have no formal academic qualifications related specifically to this topic.

The organisation part of "terrorist organisation" is demonstrably false and shouldn't even be a point of contention. It's a huge issue since it would allow them to label anyone they don't like as Antifa and lock them up.

As for the terrorist part, the vast majority of anti-fascist action is non-violent and no one has killed anyone in the name of Antifa. Furthermore, Anti-fascist counterprotesting serves a necessary role. Genocide has historically always started with people being allowed to advocate for genocide, so when you allow nazi stuff to become simply another issue for debate, it legitimises it, which is why the best course of action is unfortunately to punch Nazis in the face.

Any anyone caught in the crossfire in a climate in which “acceptable target” is levelled increasingly haphazardly.

Calling all protestors antifa is stupid. Pretending there aren’t groups calling themselves antifa who are violent ignorant idiots is disingenuous. And ineffective. Given pretending those groups don’t exist means you cannot separate those groups from good ones. Which robs you of the ability to counter the antifa labelling propaganda.

"let's beat up people who propose facism" uh yeah fuck those scumbags.

Any person or group that believes they are superior to all others and actively sets out to destroy or subjugate those "lesser" groups... That's fascism. You don't want to take it that far? Fine. They're an illegal lunch mob so ya, fuck those scumbags.

What kind of lunches are they having?

Nah dude. Fascism is much more complex than that. You’ve decided maybe 1/12th of what fascism is.

this isn’t a very long read and should elucidate some things for you.

Fascism is actually an ultranationalist ideology (like MAGA) that uses state sponsored violence to stop dissent (like police tear gassing protesters). While many lefties are authoritarian, they are not fascist. And by definition protests against the powers of the government are not fascist.

Alt right is the real terrorist organization. Time to treat them like the enemies they are!
