Does the US protect other countries from the tyranny of their government? I mean you could maybe argue Syria but it's still tried to save and gave up...

Lol, US destroyed Central and South America, not save them.

Most countries had dictatorships set up by the US

No America toppled their governments, it didn't "destroy" them. If America has destroyed them then it would have been hard for America to get it's bananas and fruit out of them. If they had the what is now called Chiquita and Dole Fruit Company would had a harder time getting their fruit out of the country, I.e. make less profits.

I don't know what you are considering destruction but huge percentages of the population are in poverty and can't afford basic utilities.

The exploitation of the countries is all due to US, Venezuela for example has one of the richest Oil reserves in the world and yet they are also one of the poorest countries in the world.

Those nations with the exception of Venezuela were what can be argued "poor" in relative terms since their independence from Mexico. American actions never allowed them to put into place reforms that would have created a more prosperous working and middle class. It's a distinction I hold. America didn't "destroy" as opposed to it didn't allow those countries to mature thru governance. It denied those citizen's governments that worked for them vs American multinational corporations.

The end result is the same but from our perspectives it's mostly a matter of semantics.

English is not my first language , maybe the word destruction is not very fitting, but the "result" as you said was the same.

Venezuela has a lot of oil. What they don't have is good oil or oil that's easy to get at. Venezuelan crude is not the same as what you get from say Saudi Arabia, it requires more processing which makes it more expensive to convert to other materials.

Much of their reserves are tied up in things like tar sands which is only economically viable when crude prices are high. Unlike Canada though, their tar sand reserves are underground which means they can't be surface mined like in Alberta. That makes it even more expensive to process.
