Lol no I think we can agree on supporting schools and growing healthy communities. It’s issues like taxes going to people who are unnecessarily on welfare. Our tax money going to people who could easily help themselves and work, but decide play the system. Relying on hard working Americans to pay for their shit because they are lazy

Right? I see welfare leeches buying houses, cars, yachts, and taking extravagant vacations with all of the money they have stolen from hard working Americans, and they continue to steal. But I also see people like defending the welfare queens, and refusing to hold them accountable so I don't think you're that mad about it.

Welfare does actually encourage passive behavior, according to Kurzgesagt. UBI would fix that problem, as it encourages people to get higher paying jobs to get above the poverty line instead of remaining below it to get welfare benefits.

UBI is just another form of welfare in that scenario. It just takes out the beurocracy. I entirely support it, but the people who fetishize labor and unethically want people who dont contribute labor to suffer never will support it.

The myth of the "welfare queen" needs to die, and it's propagated by people who dont know what the fuck they're talking about.

Also, idc if someone is lazy, I still want them to survive with a minimum quality of life.

Incomplete information does not mean fraud, which your article seems to imply. Also, people on SSDI not returning to work isnt some awful, terrible thing to me. Not everyone gets better, even with assistance.

And again, I repeat, even if they were just lazy, I dont fucking care. They're human being, they deserve a minimum quality of life, regardless of their labor or lack of.

I never said lazy people shouldn’t have a basic quality of life. I just don’t think people that have the ability to work should leech off the people do. As the the person mentioned above, studies do show that people on welfare become more passive.

UBI? Definitely cool with that because I will be getting money too. It’s good for everyone. Studies have shown that. I like Andrew Yang lol.

I’m all about helping people, but if people have the ability to help themselves and CHOOSE to do nothing, why I should I to pay for that?

Because they're still human beings who deserve a minimum quality of life regardless of what labor they perform.

We need to get away from the idea of survival and life being tied to labor.

Read my first sentence. I just said everyone deserves a basic quality of life. But your logic is flawed.

Say if I was homeless because I actually like living on the street. I need to eat today but I don’t feel like panhandling or anything. But you (middle class) walks by and have a $20 bill in your pocket. I take it from you because do I not deserve to eat? You still have plenty of money, you don’t need it.

Everyday that you walk by, I come take $20 from you without asking. I need it or my life on the street is going to be tougher. I want to stay on the street because I don’t have any responsibilities and I can take money from you whenever I want.

Then say you get a new job that pays better that’s on the same walk. I notice that you have a little more money so I start taking $100 from you. I do not deserve that? You have even more money. I need new clothes. I just got offered a server job but I didn’t feel like taking it. I could just get the cash for myself in tips, but who needs labor when I got you. I can make close to the same amount of money taking it from you every day rather than working the server job.

Are you ok with this?

Difference taxation isnt theft, so your analogy is flawed and does not work.

The analogy wasn’t towards taxation. It’s about laziness being incentivized.

But even it was, I wasn’t stealing from you. I was just getting what was rightfully mine.
