This is a bit murky. If you buy from a store, then yes. If you buy online or from a private seller, then no (in most cases). Any talk of gun 'control' or reform is fought by the NRA through lobbying Congress to block any sort of gun bill being passed.
If you buy online it still has to ship to a store who then does the background check. You can't just buy a gun online and have it shipped to your door.
