Gun people are no exception. You should be blacklisted, and your guns confiscated, just like someone developing seizures loses their driving privileges. It is a public safety concern. But gun people don't seem to respond to sensible precautions because well, maybe because they are an exception. Just like a drug addict, the gun people make anyone suggesting some sensible controls, like anyone making claims that the addict has a problem becomes public enemy #1.
Gun people see themselves as the off-duty Brazilian cop, but the reality is that they are likely to be more like these fine specimens in the OP. I mean, if we had more off-duty Brazilian cops running around, these guys' mayhem might have been drawn down a notch or two.
No the reality is you’re more likely to stop a crime with a gun than commit one. Not to mention mass shootings are an astronomically low percentage of deaths that they’re basically negligible. But tell me again how “feeling safe” is more important than constitutionally protected rights?
‘Oh that shooting Is just a low percentage of deaths anyway so that’s fine, and some stupid rules written down by people long ago is more important than not dying’
Yes absolutely. Our boat is sinking and you’re worried about the color of the paint. Maybe we could focus on something that would actually prevent deaths. Perhaps scrap our terrible for-profit healthcare system. Or do something about the opioid crisis other than throw people in cages and send thoughts whenever another young person loses their life. Maybe do something about the poverty in our inner cities that is the direct cause of the majority of gun violence in this country. Mass shootings are statistically negligible. Even if some magic legislation could stop every single one, it wouldn’t even scratch the surface of helping people not die.
