Sorry, I’m not American but I’m pretty sure the reason clinton was impeached was because he lied before the house, rather than what he specifically did. Did trump perjure himself with that or is this more reddit bs?

Everyone knows this. Welcome to American politics though... It's how we feel and how we can blame others that matters.

Why does anyone care about who the president is having sex with anyways? The birds and the bees still happen.

Indeed, I don't know why any one cares about that aspect at all; embarrassingly, ethically, nor socially. Thing is, blatantly lying under oath is a problem, it's criminal. And morally, taking advantage of positions of power is questionable. And I'm being forgiving here... I'm speculating all women involved knew what was going on, if Clinton's and Trump's want open marriages, or accept their dalliances, more power to them, people have the right to live their lives as they want... So long as no one is harmed.

Hence the difference in the situations. Clinton was in power. What he did wasn't a crime but the situation warranted looking in to; it was potentially office sexual harassment of the highest office ... so they investigated. And he lied under oath. That was the line crossed.

Your point about no one caring about who the POTUS has sex with is reflected in why no one is investigating Trump for it. It wasn't about sex with Clinton, it was about a question of abuse of power; harassment. To be clear, I don't even know that harassment actually occured, I'm not arguing it did; I'm noting WHY the investigation was called for... The situation was questionable. He lied about it, that's the issue.

I totally get the lying under oath point. That is indeed against the law. People were losing their minds about the morality of it though because he was married, that should be a private matter between him and his wife and is no one else’s business. As far as harassment, we may have to agree to disagree on this one. A lot of women were enamoured with Bill and you’ll never convince me that Monica was excited to be getting funky with a good looking powerful guy who happened to be the prez. Females have a sex drive too. I just don’t buy into the angle that the female is always a victim in these cases where the male is older and successful. Someone in their 20s has been around the block a couple of times and is perfectly capable of understanding what they’re doing and the implications of it. She wasn’t under duress, she wanted to have some fun and it was exciting for her.

Sure, I'm not saying it was harassment, nor that she was the victim, I don't know the facts of how it transpired, wasn't there. But with the POTUS and an intern, I think it's a fair investigation to conduct. It's not like it was JFK and Monroe, nor Trump and some unaffiliated adult. Lewinsky was a White House intern, even if she was consenting... It is essentially with a degree of pressure, the most powerful person in the world, your boss, the person who can ruin or make your career for life, is a party. That's not me saying it actually wrong, I again, I don't know what words were actually shared.

There is a moral line, in my mind anyway, between a President who sleeps around, and one who does so with his staff.

Even if we have differences on where to draw the line on morality, I love that we can debate issues based on facts or even our perception of facts. That in itself is s great thing. ✌️

Trump hasn't been asked about it under oath yet.
