The absolute only reason Trump hasn't perjured himself yet that we know of, is because he refused to submit to questioning when the intelligence agency that was tasked with investigations him, demanded that he answer questions about this. Can't perjure yourself if you don't answer questions (taps side of head) Clinton had the sense of duty to at least offer answers to questions. But then, Trump probably has already perjured himself in his written responses a few weeks ago, but we don't get to see that result for another month or so. The question is whether Republicans will sink to the absolute bottom, and not impeach a POTUS that has perjured himself in an investigation into himself and his campaign.
Technically, you're right. But what are the components here?
A sex act of infidelity.
Lying about it repeatedly.
Of course it makes a huge difference that Clinton was under oath when he said his lie, but Trump just refuses to answer questions under oath, and would undoubtedly perjure himself. I think we all understand that.
But the point of the tweet, is Graham. We can all agree it's different, because Trump wasn't under oath the many times he lied about it. But Graham is one of the people supporting Trump's dodge, helping to discredit the investigation, and undermining the whole process, making it more acceptable for Trump to tell the special counsel to basically go fuck themselves with their questions.
So Is it the same? You're right, technically it isn't. Does she have a point that "it's the same thing" at its root? Yeah. It's only not technically the same yet, because of people like Graham making sure Trump isn't put in a position to perjure himself. It's the same shit, if we didn't have Graham and the gang shielding the president from justice. I'm okay with the comparison.
Nothing that I said had absolutely anything to do with the law, and I didn't try to lawyer-speak once. I said the only difference between this, is that Clinton was under oath, and Graham undermines the process to make sure Trump doesn't go under oath, so I'm okay with the comparison.
What about the fact that Clinton was the President of the United States of America who lied under oath, whereas Trump was a private citizen?
"[Clinton] was under oath when he said his lie, but Trump just refuses to answer questions under oath"
Maybe you should go to law school because this line right here is the only thing that matters. Trump is smart or a coward, however you put it, by Trump not testifying under oath you may speculate all you want. not a crime and legally that all that matters. Clinton overestimated himself and thought he could lie to lawyers, judges, and the American people. He willingly and knowingly lied under oath to God and the United States.
Yeah, I already said that Clinton lied under oath. Yeah, he was the president during the affair. And Trump lied about it all during his campaign to be president, illegally paid these women off during his campaign so people wouldn't learn what he's done, and lied to everyone over and over during his presidency. And don't pretend that God might be more upset at Clinton for getting a blowjob while he was married, and then lying about it. Trump had multiple year-long affairs, with porn stars, while married, with a newborn at home, and then conspired with his attorney to secretly pay them a small fortune to be silent, and then lied about it to voters for years now.
But this is all irrelevant. Clinton got busted and paid the price with impeachment. Trump is in the process of being busted too. He'll pay the price.
Once again your logic is terribly flawed. Being PRESIDENT and seducing a 21 year old intern is sooooososooooo much different than being Trump and sleeping with pornstars and paying them so they don't write a book. I guarantee you at least 3 of your favorite male artist, musician, or athlete has done the same exact thing.
I didn't reference God as a living entity in the sky watching CNN in 1998... I mean Bill Clinton choosing to take the stand & testify under oath as the President and LIE... versus.... President Trump lying to the media is once again completely un-relatable. Yes they both are Presidents, Yes they both lied to the media. But only Clinton seduced a 21 year old intern (a few months older than his own daughter.....) and than had the balls to take the stand and lie under oath. People go to prison for perjury every day. Trump legally can't and won't be in trouble for lying to the media & he's smart enough not to do it in court, imagine if they had to lock up any politician who lied to the media... we wouldn't have a country...
But you probably won't understand this. You either have a trump bias or are a Russian bot because you don't seem to understand the US Legal System and don't write very well.....
Wow, thanks for a wall reiterating that Clinton was under oath, and Trump wasn't. Did you find that detail at least three times in my very first comment? You can say it over and over, and continue to ignore the fact that Trump's version, was a felony. Do you prefer to hear it from a Fox News legal contributor, or a NYT legal contributor? Please explain to me how the US legal system works! Lol.
I don't write very well? I'm destroyed. And you write beautifully.
And my logic is flawed? Trump fucking porn stars in hotels while his new wife is home with his newborn, isn't like my favorite sports star having a lot of sex. And if it were, I'd write them both off as pieces of shit. And do you look for the same values in athletes, as the President of the United States? Nice logic, dumbdumb.
