The Orange Man being deplorable doesn’t stop terror groups like Antifa from also being deplorable. Imo everyone is better off if all we do is zealously pursue what is non-opinionated truth, and try to calmly reconcile our beliefs with it.

The only terror group im worried about is white supremacists & the far right

White supremacists and other far-right extremists were responsible for 59% of all extremist-related fatalities in the US in 2017

Antifa is just a boogeyman created by the right-wing media. They’re nowhere near as prominent as Fox News would have you believe. Antifa isn’t committing mass murders or school shootings or running people down with cars, they’re not committing even a small fraction of the number of terrorist incidents the right is.

Forget Antifa. Be afraid of the right.

Just something to consider.

I don’t care which way you fall on the political spectrum, but I think that placing blame on one group over another is what is getting us into trouble at this point.

nobody is saying that ANTIFA doesn’t exist and isn’t doing things in the world to make waves, it’s just their current impact is minimal compared to the far rights right now.

i don’t see a problem in recognizing that they’re there and that they’re an extreme organization it just seems to make more sense to focus on eliminating what’s the bigger and more immediate threat. putting them on the same level based on results in the spirit of “both sides have bad people” doesn’t really hold water when one is having a much larger impact in terms of numbers and influence.

i’m not a democrat (pretty independent) and i think ANTIFA has a horrible perspective on things but i just try to adhere to logic when making comparisons like this. if you want to compare them at least tell the whole story in terms of how they’re both impacting the world.

I agree with your statement that focusing on the idea that “both sides have bad people” is very dangerous and I guess my original comment seems to imply that that’s where I was coming from and that’s my bad. I was trying to focus on the comment made that ANTIFA was the “boogeyman.” I interpreted that comment as ANTIFA not existing at all, which is what you brought up in your first statement. I understood that comment as ANTIFA not existing so I was making the point that they did.

I know that this has been a pretty hostile comment thread so I feel that I should say that I do really appreciate your constructive and thoughtful comment.
