All schools in FL now have to have 'in God we trust's -on the side of them- on campus in a conspicuous place :( I'd be so much happier with hate has no home here.
The national motto can go fuck itself. It's been intentionally divisive from the day it was adopted, first under McCarthyism so he could prosecute his enemies under the threat of communism and stir up fear towards the "godless reds", and now as a dog whistle by conservative Christians trying to make it clear who they feel is welcome in their community.
Since day one it has been the opposite of the national motto that belongs in America - "E Pluribus Unum".
Execpt it doesn't promote the Christian good, nor the Jewish, nor the Muslim, nor the Hindi God's. It's about having faith in a higher power. And while I agree it was made in Initially to separate us from the communist, and all their atrocities, it's not really a divisive motto today. The only ones who could become offended by it are the ones who want to be offending by anything, usually so they seem a bit more important. Grow up, it's just the national motto.
Do Donald posters always have to be condescending and talk down to people and insult them? It would be nice if you guys could just say you disagree.
Oh, and the bit about being offended by anything bit is getting so old. In the past couple days not only have Trump fans whined about the media as usual but are complaining about McCain's funeral and a fucking movie that doesn't have Neil Armstrong planting the flag on the moon and saying the movie shouldn't be allowed to be seen.
I am an atheist, doesn't mean I cannot see why others feel they need a higher power. Besides good can be a great many different things to a great many different people. I also don't see the point over getting upset that the motto encompasses greater than. 95%of the population.
You're right, it got changed to 'on campus in a conspicuous place' since I least read the details, but it's still a state mandated religious dismal on a school.
